With EPS Growth And More, Sigong Tech (KOSDAQ:020710) Is Interesting
It's only natural that many investors, especially those who are new to the game, prefer to buy shares in 'sexy' stocks with a good story, even if those businesses lose money. But the reality is that when a company loses money each year, for long enough, its investors will usually take their share of those losses.
In contrast to all that, I prefer to spend time on companies like Sigong Tech (KOSDAQ:020710), which has not only revenues, but also profits. Now, I'm not saying that the stock is necessarily undervalued today; but I can't shake an appreciation for the profitability of the business itself. In comparison, loss making companies act like a sponge for capital - but unlike such a sponge they do not always produce something when squeezed.

How Fast Is Sigong Tech Growing Its Earnings Per Share?
Even with very modest growth rates, a company will usually do well if it improves earnings per share (EPS) year after year. So EPS growth can certainly encourage an investor to take note of a stock. Like the last firework on New Year's Eve accelerating into the sky, Sigong Tech's EPS shot from ₩309 to ₩769, over the last year. Year on year growth of 149% is certainly a sight to behold. That could be a sign that the business has reached a true inflection point.
Careful consideration of revenue growth and earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margins can help inform a view on the sustainability of the recent profit growth. Sigong Tech shareholders can take confidence from the fact that EBIT margins are up from 0.01% to 6.7%, and revenue is growing. That's great to see, on both counts.

Sigong Tech isn't a huge company, given its market capitalization of ₩103b. That makes it extra important to check on its balance sheet strength.
Are Sigong Tech Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
Personally, I like to see high insider ownership of a company, since it suggests that it will be managed in the interests of shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that Sigong Tech insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. Indeed, with a collective holding of 56%, company insiders are in control and have plenty of capital behind the venture. This makes me think they will be incentivised to plan for the long term - something I like to see. With that sort of holding, insiders have about ₩58b riding on the stock, at current prices. That's nothing to sneeze at!
Is Sigong Tech Worth Keeping An Eye On?
Sigong Tech's earnings per share have taken off like a rocket aimed right at the moon. That EPS growth certainly has my attention, and the large insider ownership only serves to further stoke my interest. At times fast EPS growth is a sign the business has reached an inflection point; and I do like those. So to my mind Sigong Tech is worth putting on your watchlist; after all, shareholders do well when the market underestimates fast growing companies.
