ITFOR's (TSE:4743) Upcoming Dividend Will Be Larger Than Last Year's

ITFOR Inc. (TSE:4743) will increase its dividend from last year's comparable payment on the 2nd of December to ¥30.00. This will take the annual payment to 4.1% of the stock price, which is above what most companies in the industry pay.

ITFOR's Future Dividend Projections Appear Well Covered By Earnings

If the payments aren't sustainable, a high yield for a few years won't matter that much. The last dividend was quite easily covered by ITFOR's earnings. This indicates that quite a large proportion of earnings is being invested back into the business.

The next year is set to see EPS grow by 12.7%. If the dividend continues on this path, the payout ratio could be 53% by next year, which we think can be pretty sustainable going forward.

ITFOR Has A Solid Track Record

Even over a long history of paying dividends, the company's distributions have been remarkably stable. The dividend has gone from an annual total of ¥15.00 in 2015 to the most recent total annual payment of ¥60.00. This means that it has been growing its distributions at 15% per annum over that time. Rapidly growing dividends for a long time is a very valuable feature for an income stock.

The Dividend Looks Likely To Grow

Investors who have held shares in the company for the past few years will be happy with the dividend income they have received. ITFOR has seen EPS rising for the last five years, at 17% per annum. Shareholders are getting plenty of the earnings returned to them, which combined with strong growth makes this quite appealing.

ITFOR Looks Like A Great Dividend Stock

Overall, we think this could be an attractive income stock, and it is only getting better by paying a higher dividend this year. Distributions are quite easily covered by earnings, which are also being converted to cash flows. All in all, this checks a lot of the boxes we look for when choosing an income stock.

Market movements attest to how highly valued a consistent dividend policy is compared to one which is more unpredictable.
