Here's What Analysts Are Forecasting For Snam S.p.A. (BIT:SRG) After Its Half-Year Results
As you might know, Snam S.p.A. (BIT:SRG) recently reported its half-yearly numbers. It was an okay report, and revenues came in at €1.8b, approximately in line with analyst estimates leading up to the results announcement. This is an important time for investors, as they can track a company's performance in its report, look at what experts are forecasting for next year, and see if there has been any change to expectations for the business. With this in mind, we've gathered the latest statutory forecasts to see what the analysts are expecting for next year.

Following the latest results, Snam's 16 analysts are now forecasting revenues of €4.33b in 2024. This would be a modest 3.9% improvement in revenue compared to the last 12 months. Yet prior to the latest earnings, the analysts had been anticipated revenues of €4.33b and earnings per share (EPS) of €0.36 in 2024. So we can see that while the consensus made no real change to its revenue estimates, it also no longer provides an earnings per share estimate. This suggests that revenues are what the market is focusing on after the latest results.
We'd also point out that thatthe analysts have made no major changes to their price target of €4.97. The consensus price target is just an average of individual analyst targets, so - it could be handy to see how wide the range of underlying estimates is. Currently, the most bullish analyst values Snam at €5.60 per share, while the most bearish prices it at €4.20. Still, with such a tight range of estimates, it suggeststhe analysts have a pretty good idea of what they think the company is worth.
Taking a look at the bigger picture now, one of the ways we can understand these forecasts is to see how they compare to both past performance and industry growth estimates. It's pretty clear that there is an expectation that Snam's revenue growth will slow down substantially, with revenues to the end of 2024 expected to display 8.0% growth on an annualised basis. This is compared to a historical growth rate of 11% over the past five years. By way of comparison, the other companies in this industry with analyst coverage are forecast to grow their revenue at 2.6% annually. So it's pretty clear that, while Snam's revenue growth is expected to slow, it's still expected to grow faster than the industry itself.
The Bottom Line
The most important thing to take away is that the analysts reconfirmed their revenue estimates for next year, suggesting that the business is performing in line with expectations. Happily, there were no major changes to revenue forecasts, with the business still expected to grow faster than the wider industry. The consensus price target held steady at €4.97, with the latest estimates not enough to have an impact on their price targets.
