KKR Reportedly Mulls Acquisition of GPI KKR & Co. Inc. (NYSE:KKR), the buyout firm that’s been scouting for takeover targets amid the recent market volatility, is considering a potential acquisition of Italian health-care technology firm GPI S.p.A. (BIT:GPI), according to people with knowledge of the matter. The US private equity firm has been speaking with advisers in recent weeks as it considers a potential deal to take Trent-based GPI private, the people said, asking not to be identified as the matter is private. The stock is up about 27% in Milan trading this year, giving the company a market value of about €385 million ($446 million). An investment vehicle backed by GPI Chief Executive Officer Fausto Manzana is the company’s biggest shareholder, with a 48% stake that’s equivalent to 57% of the voting rights, according to its annual report.
