Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Aanjanayae Agarwal, a S. E. Power Limited (NSE:SEPOWER) insider, recently shelled out ₹5.8m to buy stock, at ₹2.91 per share. Nevertheless, it only increased their shareholding by a minuscule percentage, and it wasn't a massive purchase by absolute value, either.

S. E. Power Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Notably, that recent purchase by Aanjanayae Agarwal is the biggest insider purchase of S. E. Power shares that we've seen in the last year. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (₹3.85), we still think insider buying is a positive. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.

Insider Ownership of S. E. Power

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. S. E. Power insiders own about ₹90m worth of shares (which is 59% of the company). I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

So What Do The S. E. Power Insider Transactions Indicate?

It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchase. And the longer term insider transactions also give us confidence. However, we note that the company didn't make a profit over the last twelve months, which makes us cautious. Along with the high insider ownership, this analysis suggests that insiders are quite bullish about S. E. Power. That's what I like to see!
