Here's Why I Think Agarwal Industrial (NSE:AGARIND) Might Deserve Your Attention Today
Like a puppy chasing its tail, some new investors often chase 'the next big thing', even if that means buying 'story stocks' without revenue, let alone profit. And in their study titled Who Falls Prey to the Wolf of Wall Street?' Leuz et. al. found that it is 'quite common' for investors to lose money by buying into 'pump and dump' schemes.
In contrast to all that, I prefer to spend time on companies like Agarwal Industrial (NSE:AGARIND), which has not only revenues, but also profits. While profit is not necessarily a social good, it's easy to admire a business that can consistently produce it. Loss-making companies are always racing against time to reach financial sustainability, but time is often a friend of the profitable company, especially if it is growing.

How Fast Is Agarwal Industrial Growing?
As one of my mentors once told me, share price follows earnings per share (EPS). That makes EPS growth an attractive quality for any company. It certainly is nice to see that Agarwal Industrial has managed to grow EPS by 30% per year over three years. As a general rule, we'd say that if a company can keep up that sort of growth, shareholders will be smiling.
Careful consideration of revenue growth and earnings before interest and taxation (EBIT) margins can help inform a view on the sustainability of the recent profit growth. While we note Agarwal Industrial's EBIT margins were flat over the last year, revenue grew by a solid 14% to ₹7.6b. That's a real positive.

Since Agarwal Industrial is no giant, with a market capitalization of ₹2.8b, so you should definitely check its cash and debt before getting too excited about its prospects.
Are Agarwal Industrial Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?
Many consider high insider ownership to be a strong sign of alignment between the leaders of a company and the ordinary shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that Agarwal Industrial insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. Indeed, with a collective holding of 67%, company insiders are in control and have plenty of capital behind the venture. To me this is a good sign because it suggests they will be incentivised to build value for shareholders over the long term. In terms of absolute value, insiders have ₹1.9b invested in the business, using the current share price. That should be more than enough to keep them focussed on creating shareholder value!
Is Agarwal Industrial Worth Keeping An Eye On?
Given my belief that share price follows earnings per share you can easily imagine how I feel about Agarwal Industrial's strong EPS growth. Further, the high level of insider ownership impresses me, and suggests that I'm not the only one who appreciates the EPS growth. Fast growth and confident insiders should be enough to warrant further research. So the answer is that I do think this is a good stock to follow along with.
