Have Insiders Been Buying Legend Holdings Corporation (HKG:3396) Shares?
It is not uncommon to see companies perform well in the years after insiders buy shares. The flip side of that is that there are more than a few examples of insiders dumping stock prior to a period of weak performance. So shareholders might well want to know whether insiders have been buying or selling shares in Legend Holdings Corporation (HKG:3396).
What Is Insider Selling?
Most investors know that it is quite permissible for company leaders, such as directors of the board, to buy and sell stock in the company. However, most countries require that the company discloses such transactions to the market.
Insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing. But it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing. For example, a Harvard University study found that 'insider purchases earn abnormal returns of more than 6% per year'.

Legend Holdings Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
The Non-Executive Director Linan Zhu made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for HK$50m worth of shares at a price of HK$17.76 each. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being HK$10.68). Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. We always take careful note of the price insiders pay when purchasing shares. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when an insider has purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Linan Zhu.
