Team17 Group Insiders Placed Bullish Bets Worth UK£489.8k
Generally, when a single insider buys stock, it is usually not a big deal. However, when several insiders are buying, like in the case of Team17 Group plc (LON:TM17), it sends a favourable message to the company's shareholders.
Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we do think it is perfectly logical to keep tabs on what insiders are doing.

Team17 Group Insider Transactions Over The Last Year
Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Non-Executive Chair Frank Sagnier for UK£205k worth of shares, at about UK£1.90 per share. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (UK£2.48), we still think insider buying is a positive. Because it occurred at a lower valuation, it doesn't tell us much about whether insiders might find today's price attractive.
In the last twelve months Team17 Group insiders were buying shares, but not selling. You can see the insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last year depicted in the chart below. If you want to know exactly who sold, for how much, and when, simply click on the graph below!

Insider Ownership
Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It appears that Team17 Group insiders own 21% of the company, worth about UK£76m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
So What Do The Team17 Group Insider Transactions Indicate?
There haven't been any insider transactions in the last three months -- that doesn't mean much. On a brighter note, the transactions over the last year are encouraging. Overall we don't see anything to make us think Team17 Group insiders are doubting the company, and they do own shares.
