Anyone interested in MS INTERNATIONAL plc (LON:MSI) should probably be aware that the Group Finance Director & Executive Director, Michael O'Connell, recently divested UK£102k worth of shares in the company, at an average price of UK£11.10 each. However, the silver lining is that the sale only reduced their total holding by 0.5%, so we're hesitant to read anything much into it, on its own.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At MS INTERNATIONAL

Notably, that recent sale by Group Finance Director & Executive Director Michael O'Connell was not the only time they traded MS INTERNATIONAL shares this year. They previously purchased UK£254k worth of shares at a price of UK£7.21 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of UK£11.50. While it does suggest insiders consider the stock undervalued at lower prices, this transaction doesn't tell us much about what they think of current prices.

Michael O'Connell sold a total of 49.70k shares over the year at an average price of UK£8.09. Insider Ownership Of MS INTERNATIONAL

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. MS INTERNATIONAL insiders own about UK£75m worth of shares (which is 41% of the company). I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
