We wouldn't blame STMicroelectronics N.V. (EPA:STMPA) shareholders if they were a little worried about the fact that Jean-Marc Chery, the Chairman of the Managing Board recently netted about €1.9m selling shares at an average price of €38.50. That's a big disposal, and it decreased their holding size by 49%, which is notable but not too bad.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At STMicroelectronics

Notably, that recent sale by Jean-Marc Chery is the biggest insider sale of STMicroelectronics shares that we've seen in the last year. So what is clear is that an insider saw fit to sell at around the current price of €37.49. We generally don't like to see insider selling, but the lower the sale price, the more it concerns us. Given that the sale took place at around current prices, it makes us a little cautious but is hardly a major concern.
