The company estimates that the current crisis in the Middle East will result in a negative impact to its fiscal year 2026 net profits of c. EUR 50 million. Wizz Air Holdings plc Launches New XLR Route from London to Medina Wizz Air Holdings PLC announced that it will be the first airline to offer a direct flight between London Gatwick and Medina in Saudi Arabia. The new route, which launches on 1st August 2025, is Wizz Air's second from the UK using the longer-range Airbus XLR aircraft, with its first flight scheduled from London Gatwick to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on 31st March. By launching this route, the airline will facilitate more than 174,000 seats per year to Medina, making the holy city, which is famous for its religious tourism, more accessible than ever. Wizz Air Holdings Plc Expects Pratt & Whitney Powder Metal Engine Issues to Impact Capacity Due to Increased Engine Removals Wizz Air Holdings Plc provided an update on the impact of the Pratt & Whitney GTF engine inspections following a market update by RTX Corporation on 11 September 2023. Wizz Air was informed by RTX that its Pratt & Whitney GTF engines will be subject to inspection intervals, resulting in engines being removed for shop visits during the remainder of 2023 and into 2024 that will likely cause some of its aircraft being grounded in this period. Wizz Air is currently assessing the implications to understand the extent of the impact on its fleet with initial estimates indicating a potential capacity reduction of 10% for F24 H2. Wizz Air will continue to work with Pratt & Whitney to minimize the impact to its fleet plan and costs to the business. The Company continues to take proactive action to mitigate any financial and operational impact and will be seeking financial compensation from Pratt & Whitney. Despite the factors impacting first quarter of fiscal 2023, the Company is expecting a material operational profit in the second quarter of the fiscal year (July - September) as revenue and pricing momentum is expected to continue to improve, as the company highlighted during the full year results release. The company expects continued RASK improvement on the back of higher fares and improving load factors, resulting in a high-single digit RASK improvement for the quarter vs. fiscal year 2020. Load factors as of July improve to above 90% and the fare environment remains strong, with industry capacity reducing and consumer demand over summer strong. The company expects higher fleet utilization to help to further improve the company's ex-Fuel CASK, returning towards historical ex-Fuel CASK levels for the quarter and as the company reduce the operational impact of disruptions. To be able to avoid cancellations and secure a more punctual operation to the company's customers, the company has further improved the agility and resilience of the company's network including adjusting schedules where the company has seen a higher occurrence of issues (e.g. slot allocation issues, turn-around timings). In total for the peak summer period the company expects to reduce utilization a further 5% versus the plan outlined at the full year results to reduce the impact of ongoing external disruptions. Wizz Air Holdings Plc Provides Earnings Guidance for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended March 31, 2022 Wizz Air Holdings Plc provided earnings guidance for the fourth quarter and full year ended March 31, 2022. The company's operating result at negative for fourth quarter of fiscal year 2022 is expected to be in the range of €210 million - €190 million. For the year, the company expects net loss to be in the range of €652 million - €632 million. During fiscal year 2023, the company's focus will be on maximising revenue and returning to productivity levels seen during the pre-COVID years, that should result in improved profitability during this period.
