Dr. Coughlin served as Chief Executive Officer of Lydian International Limited from December 2005 to February 24, 2014 and also served as its President until February 24, 2014. He founded Lydian International in 2005. He has been credited with the discovery of Lydian's award winning +4Moz Amulsar gold deposit in Armenia and he has played an integral part in the discovery of two other plus million ounce gold deposits in South America. He has held senior positions with major mining companies and was AngloGold Ashanti's Chief Geologist in South America. Dr. Coughlin has worked with and consulted to, many major and junior companies on exploration, development and mining projects in 20 different countries across 6 continents. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Dawson Creek Capital Corp. He served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Royal Road Minerals Limited and has been its Director since May 6, 2012. Dr. Coughlin served as the Non-Executive Chairman at Tigris Resources Limited and serves as its Director. He has been a Director at Caza Gold Corp. since February 28, 2017. He served as a Non-Executive Director of Tethyan Resources plc (Aurasian Minerals plc) from March 16, 2015 to October 4, 2016. He served as Non-Executive Director of Lydian International Limited since February 24, 2014 until April 17, 2014 and its Director from December 22, 2007 to February 24, 2014. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the Society of Economic Geologists. Dr. Coughlin holds a BSc Geology, MSc Exploration & Mining Geology and a PhD in Structural Geology.

Royal Road Minerals Limited engages in the exploration and development of mineral properties in Colombia, Nicaragua, and Peru. The company primarily explores for gold and copper deposits. It holds interests in the Los Andes project located in Boaco province of Nicaragua; and the Piedra Iman property located in Chinandega Province of northwestern Nicaragua. The company also has options to acquire 100% interests in the La Golondrina and La Redención gold projects located in the Nariño Province of southern Colombia, as well as operates as a license holder of approximately 400,000 hectares in the application to concession contract process in Nariño Province. In addition, it holds mining concession agreements covering approximately 36,000 hectares of land; and has right to acquire mining concessions over approximately 215,000 hectares of land in prospective mineral belts in the Nariño, Cauca, and Antioquia departments of Colombia. The company was formerly known as Tigris Resources Limited and changed its name to Royal Road Minerals Limited in April 2015. Royal Road Minerals Limited was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in Saint Helier, Jersey.
