Engen Botswana Limited Appoints Sharveen Maharaj to the Board of Directors Engen Botswana Limited announced the following non-executive director appointment: With effect from 1 February 2025, Engen appointed Mr. Sharveen Maharaj to the board of directors. Sharveen Maharaj is presently the Executive Head (GM): Engen Lubricants & Commercial at Engen Petroleum, South Africa. Being a Chemical Engineer by background, with sound leadership exposure has equipped him with the technical knowledge to understand the industry and the highly complex and competitive nature of Oil & Gas Industry in General. Sharveen has held several senior management roles at Engen Petroleum, Lubricants Sales Head, previously managed Engen's National Logistics and Distribution as well as the Refinery's Maintenance Turnaround and Tankage Department, within the Engen Refinery in Durban, SA. Prior to that he was the Operations Manager at the Engen Island View Site responsible for Oil Movements and Storage. He was also an Engen representative on the Oil Company and TNPA Forums at Island View. Sharveen is a Director: Engen Petroleum Ltd. (SA), and a Board Member for Engen Namibia. Further, he represented Engen as a Director on the Cutler Management Board and spent 12 months as Chairman of the Board. He worked closely with SAPIA & National Government on the roll out and implementation of key frameworks and regulations for the sector. Sharveen is a seasoned Oil & Gas executive, with a strong engineering and commercial background. Mr. Ramesh is a Co-founder and non-executive Chairperson of the Botho Group. He is also a non-executive director (NED) of Sechaba Brewery Holdings Limited (SBHL,) a company listed on the BSE and a member of its Audit & Finance Committee. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) and is a Past President of BICA.
