Pureprofile Ltd's (ASX:PPL) Shares Bounce 27% But Its Business Still Trails The Industry

Pureprofile Ltd (ASX:PPL) shareholders would be excited to see that the share price has had a great month, posting a 27% gain and recovering from prior weakness. Notwithstanding the latest gain, the annual share price return of 3.7% isn't as impressive.

Although its price has surged higher, Pureprofile's price-to-sales (or "P/S") ratio of 0.7x might still make it look like a buy right now compared to the IT industry in Australia, where around half of the companies have P/S ratios above 2.4x and even P/S above 7x are quite common. One possibility is that the P/S ratio is low because investors think this modest revenue performance may begin to slide.
