Adveritas Decline Means Insider Profits Down To AU$220k

Published
ASX:AV1

Adveritas Limited (ASX:AV1) insiders who acquired shares over the previous 12 months, can probably afford to ignore the recent 10.0% decline in the stock price. Even after accounting for the recent loss, the AU$275.0k worth of stock purchased by them is now worth AU$495.0k or in other words, their investment continues to give good returns.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Adveritas Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when insider Mark Mcconell bought AU$250k worth of shares at a price of AU$0.05 per share. Even though the purchase was made at a significantly lower price than the recent price (AU$0.09), we still think insider buying is a positive. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Adveritas insiders may have bought shares in the last year, but they didn't sell any. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

Insider Ownership

Another way to test the alignment between the leaders of a company and other shareholders is to look at how many shares they own. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It appears that Adveritas insiders own 21% of the company, worth about AU$15m. We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
