Should Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX:SLR) Be Your Next Stock Pick?
Building up an investment case requires looking at a stock holistically. Today I've chosen to put the spotlight on Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX:SLR) due to its excellent fundamentals in more than one area. SLR is a company that has been able to sustain great financial health, trading at an attractive share price. In the following section, I expand a bit more on these key aspects. If you're interested in understanding beyond my high-level commentary, take a look at the report on Silver Lake Resources here.
Flawless balance sheet and good value
SLR is financially robust, with ample cash on hand and short-term investments to meet upcoming liabilities. This indicates that SLR has sufficient cash flows and proper cash management in place, which is an important determinant of the company’s health. Looking at SLR's capital structure, the company has no debt on its balance sheet. It has only utilized funding from its equity capital to run the business, which is typically normal for a small-cap company. Investors’ risk associated with debt is virtually non-existent and the company has plenty of headroom to grow debt in the future, should the need arise. SLR's share price is trading at below its true value, meaning that the market sentiment for the stock is currently bearish. This mispricing gives investors the opportunity to buy into the stock at a cheap price compared to the value they will be receiving, should analysts' consensus forecast growth be correct. Compared to the rest of the metals and mining industry, SLR is also trading below its peers of similar sizes in terms of their assets. This further reaffirms that SLR is potentially undervalued.
