Insider Traders Lose AU$322k As Rectifier Technologies Drops

Published
ASX:RFT

Insiders who bought AU$547.4k worth of Rectifier Technologies Limited's (ASX:RFT) stock at an average buy price of AU$0.017 over the last year may be disappointed by the recent 13% decrease in the stock. Insiders buy with the expectation to see their investments rise in value over a period of time. However, recent losses have rendered their above investment worth AU$225.4k which is not ideal.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Rectifier Technologies

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Executive Director Zorn Wong bought AU$527k worth of shares at a price of AU$0.017 per share. So it's clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price than the current share price (being AU$0.007). While their view may have changed since the purchase was made, this does at least suggest they have had confidence in the company's future. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. Generally speaking, it catches our eye when an insider has purchased shares at above current prices, as it suggests they believed the shares were worth buying, even at a higher price. Zorn Wong was the only individual insider to buy during the last year.

Zorn Wong bought 32.20m shares over the last 12 months at an average price of AU$0.017.
