AML3D's Stock Sinks To AU$0.061, But Insiders Sold Even Lower

Published
ASX:AL3

Even though AML3D Limited (ASX:AL3) has fallen by 13% over the past week , insiders who sold AU$240k worth of stock over the past year have had less luck. The average selling price of AU$0.08 is still lower than the current share price, or in other words, insiders would have been better off holding on to their shares.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At AML3D

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider sale was by the CTO & Director, Andrew Michael Sales, for AU$240k worth of shares, at about AU$0.08 per share. While we don't usually like to see insider selling, it's more concerning if the sales take place at a lower price. It's of some comfort that this sale was conducted at a price well above the current share price, which is AU$0.061. So it may not shed much light on insider confidence at current levels. The only individual insider seller over the last year was Andrew Michael Sales.

Insider Ownership

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. Usually, the higher the insider ownership, the more likely it is that insiders will be incentivised to build the company for the long term. It appears that AML3D insiders own 26% of the company, worth about AU$3.8m. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
