POET, LLC produces ethanol and other bio-refined products. POET, LLC was formerly known as Broin Companies, LLC and changed its name to POET, LLC in March 2007. The company was founded in 1986 and is based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. POET Energy (formerly Broin) is the largest ethanol producer in the world and is an established leader in the biorefining industry through project development, design and construction, research and development, plant management, and marketing. POET has a network of 26 plants in seven states producing over one billion gallons of ethanol annually.
