Olin: One-Time Problems Are A Buying Opportunity

Summary Olin remains a valuable opportunity despite operational setbacks, sector headwinds, and a 12% share price decline over the past year. OLN's Q2 was impacted by a $40M Freeport outage, weak demand, and working capital drag, but its epoxy and ammunition businesses showed resilience. The pending Huntsman merger, expected by mid-2027, should drive $250M in cost synergies and improve OLN's free cash flow and leverage profile. With a 15% free cash flow yield and a secure 4.3% dividend, I view OLN as a compelling 'self-help' story for long-term investors. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha
Narrative Update Aug 26

OLN: Huntsman Merger Will Rebalance Cyclical Exposure And Support Post 2027 Upside

Analysts have reduced the price target for Olin to $27.67 from $35.83 as weaker chlor alkali fundamentals, softer caustic soda pricing, and a more muted growth outlook following the planned Huntsman merger weigh on their assumptions for margins and the appropriate P/E multiple. Analyst Commentary Street research on Olin has turned more cautious on near term fundamentals, yet there are still some supportive elements in the recent commentary that matter for valuation and execution.
