Palisade Bio: Gut Prodrug For IBD With Catalysts

Summary Palisade Bio’s bull thesis centers on PALI-2108. This is a gut-targeted PDE4 prodrug aiming for local efficacy with fewer systemic PDE4 side effects. The main target indications are UC and FSCD, which promise a sizable TAM if PALI-2108 ultimately succeeds. Naturally, this means PALI’s story remains early-stage and highly data-dependent. Yet, they have a compelling near-term catalyst stack. PALI’s recent October 2025 raise also materially improved their cash runway and liquidity. Palisade Bio (NASDAQ:PALI) announced an executive leadership transition effective October 10, 2022, Thomas Hallam, Ph.D., ceased his duties as CEO. The company’s board of directors has appointed JD Finley, current CFO, as interim CEO, and Mr. Finley has assumed the duties of Dr. Hallam effective October 10, 2022. Prior to joining Palisade Bio, Mr. Finley was the CEO, president and CFO for PointAcross, a software company providing business messaging and communications services.

Palisade Bio (NASDAQ:PALI) is undergoing a program to streamline operations that includes focusing on lead clinical program LB1148 and laying off 20% of its staff. Palisade Bio begins phase 3 study testing LB1148 for postoperative return of bowel function

Palisade Bio (NASDAQ:PALI) said on Wednesday the first patient had been screened in a Phase 3 study testing its drug, LB1148, to help return bowel function in adult patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery. The company said it was working to enroll patients and expects to complete enrollment within the next 18-24 months. The drug LB1148 is being developed for administration before the surgeries. The trial is set to enroll about 600 patients and will assess the safety and efficacy of LB1148. The primary endpoint is time to recovery of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract following surgery. (PALI) rose 1.3% before the bell.

Palisade Bio (NASDAQ:PALI) is trading 10% higher after it begun Phase 3 study evaluating its drug, LB1148, to help return bowel function in patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery.
