Prime Focus'(NSE:PFOCUS) Share Price Is Down 60% Over The Past Three Years.
It is doubtless a positive to see that the Prime Focus Limited (NSE:PFOCUS) share price has gained some 47% in the last three months. But over the last three years we've seen a quite serious decline. Tragically, the share price declined 60% in that time. So it is really good to see an improvement. The rise has some hopeful, but turnarounds are often precarious.

Given that Prime Focus didn't make a profit in the last twelve months, we'll focus on revenue growth to form a quick view of its business development. Generally speaking, companies without profits are expected to grow revenue every year, and at a good clip. That's because it's hard to be confident a company will be sustainable if revenue growth is negligible, and it never makes a profit.
In the last three years, Prime Focus saw its revenue grow by 10% per year, compound. That's a fairly respectable growth rate. So some shareholders would be frustrated with the compound loss of 17% per year. To be frank we're surprised to see revenue growth and share price growth diverge so strongly. So this is one stock that might be worth investigating further, or even adding to your watchlist.

It's probably worth noting that the CEO is paid less than the median at similar sized companies. But while CEO remuneration is always worth checking, the really important question is whether the company can grow earnings going forward. A Different Perspective
Investors in Prime Focus had a tough year, with a total loss of 52%, against a market gain of about 4.3%. Even the share prices of good stocks drop sometimes, but we want to see improvements in the fundamental metrics of a business, before getting too interested. Regrettably, last year's performance caps off a bad run, with the shareholders facing a total loss of 4% per year over five years. Generally speaking long term share price weakness can be a bad sign, though contrarian investors might want to research the stock in hope of a turnaround. While it is well worth considering the different impacts that market conditions can have on the share price, there are other factors that are even more important. Consider for instance, the ever-present spectre of investment risk. We've identified 1 warning sign with Prime Focus , and understanding them should be part of your investment process.
