Arista Networks Delivers Q1 Results with AI Demand Outpacing Supply Chain Constraints Arista Networks reported Q1 2026 revenue of US$2.7b, up 35.1% year over year, ahead of analyst expectations and supported by strong demand for AI and specialty networking equipment.
The company introduced AI-focused products such as XPO high-density liquid-cooled pluggable optics and a universal AI spine based on the 7800 platform, targeting efficiency and scalability needs in AI data centers.
Management raised the full-year 2026 revenue growth forecast to about 27.7%, but the stock fell after guidance for Q2 revenue came in slightly below market expectations and supply chain constraints raised concerns about gross margins.
The key tension here is between strong AI-related demand and product traction on one side, and ongoing component shortages and near-term margin pressure on the other.
Investors may want to watch how effectively multi-year purchase commitments for wafers, memory, and optical modules translate into more predictable costs and delivery timelines over the next one to two years. Recent Insider Transactions Derivative • May 26

Arista Networks Introduces Massive Scale Campus Mobility Arista Networks announced significant advancements for Cognitive Campus scale including the introduction of Arista Virtual Ethernet Segment with Proxy ARP (Arista VESPA) for WLAN mobility, enabling customers to deploy large-scale mobility domains. The company also announced an expansion of Arista AVA®? (Autonomous Virtual Assist) agentic AI, designed to further streamline AI Ops use cases as well as key additions to its campus switching portfolio that bring the power, reliability, and operational simplicity of Arista's EOS®? (Extensible Operating System) to outdoor environments. Arista VESPA addresses critical scaling limits faced by major enterprises as they experience exponential growth in the number of clients and IoT devices. By bringing consistent, large-scale principles typically used in the data center to campus networks, Arista VESPA enables customers to design massive Wi-Fi roaming domain networks with over 500,000 clients. This ensures a highly resilient architecture with sub-second failover while removing the architectural complexity and hardware dependency of traditional controller-based solutions. AI for Networking with AVA now delivers a truly unified agentic AI framework for networking, establishing a foundation for autonomous, self-driving networks. This combination creates a single source of truth and the necessary context that enables AI agents, whether from Arista or third parties via the Model Context Protocol (MCP), to make truly intelligent, informed decisions across the entire infrastructure. These foundational elements enable AVA's expanded capabilities, including: Multi-domain Event Correlation across wired, wireless, data center, and security to pinpoint a single root cause. Agentic Conversational and Troubleshooting Capabilities in Ask AVA for sophisticated, multi-turn dialogue that follows train of thought. Continuous Monitoring and Automated Root Cause Analysis for proactive issue identification. Cognitive Campus for the Industrial Edge: Arista is also introducing two new ruggedized platforms, 710HXP-28TXH and 710HXP-20TNH, expanding Arista's portfolio to support demanding industrial or outdoor environments across various sectors. The new platforms include: A 20-port Din Rail switch with an IP50 rating. A 1RU 24-port switch with an IP30 rating. Both platforms are specifically engineered for harsh environments and can withstand extreme temperatures, vibrations, and shocks. Equipped with multi-gig and high-power 90W ports, they are designed to support next-generation devices such as Wi-Fi 7 access points and high-powered outdoor security cameras. By supporting Arista EOS and CloudVision, these ruggedized switches ensure a single, consistent operational model. All the newly announced software capabilities and switch platforms are expected to be generally available by first quarter' 2026. Recent Insider Transactions Derivative • Dec 04

Arista Networks Unveils Next Generation Data and AI Centers Arista Networks announced the next generation family of R4 Series platforms for AI, data center (DC), and routed backbone deployment. The R4 family of routers helps customers reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) while ensuring high performance, low AI job completion time, low power consumption, and integrated security. Arista enables high capacity DC/AI clusters with a dense 800 Gbps R4 system, thereby setting a new benchmark with the introduction of 3.2 Tbps HyperPorts. This offers distributed AI workloads with ultra-capacity for distributed scale-ac across and multiplanar networking. The new R4 series routers deliver a broad and deep portfolio of fixed and modular solutions for scalable and multiple use cases. The density and flexibility provided by Arista's new R4 family optimize customer network architectures with efficient two-tier leaf-and-spine designs. All R4 products deliver a rich suite of Arista EOS (Extensible Operating System) L3 features required for modern architectures using EVPN, VXLAN, MPLS, and SR/SRv6. Each R4 system ensures predictable latency via hierarchical deep packet buffering, coupled with scalable protection against packet loss during transient congestion. Customer use cases for AI centers include high-scale backbones, DC Interconnect, lossless AI training and inference, and scale-ac across routing. AI Centers demand high speed transport in very high port densities. Arista meets this challenge by offering a wide range of density options for 800 Gbps across its broad portfolio. Petabit scale across cloud/AI titans, neoclouds, service provider, and enterprise customer segments is now possible. "When Magnite needed to build next-generation data center solution for AI and other advanced computing needs, Arista was the clear choice given their high quality offering. This ultra capacity can enable 44% shorter job completion time for AI bandwidth flows compared to traditional load balancing over four separate 800 Gbps ports. Complementary Spine with 7280R4 The 7280R4 complements the 7800R4 in a compact fixed form factor. The 7280R4 and 7800R4 are based on the flagship and highly deployed Arista EOS. The data plane forwarding features are also consistent across both product lines. Customers can right-size their solutions to match needed port speeds, densities, space, and network architectures. Key 7280R4 family enhancements include: 32-port 800 GbE system, ideal for an AI/DC spine or backbone router; 64-port 100 GbE with 10-port 800 GbE systems, ideal for an AI/DC leaf. The 7020R4 Ethernet leaf switches for high-speed direct server connectivity as an AI or DC leaf. The 7020 R4 family is ideal for customers with complex workloads, heterogeneous environments, and high-end workstations that expect a rich feature set, high logical scale, and deep packet buffering for congestion control. Key additions in the 7020R4 family include 10GbE Ethernet with copper or 25GbE SFP port options, and 100 GbE uplinks with wirespeed TunnelSec encryption per port for cybersecurity protection. Arista Networks Reportedly to Acquire VeloCloud from Broadcom Arista Networks Inc. (NYSE:ANET) is reportedly in the process of acquiring VeloCloud (VeloCloud Networks, Inc.), which is a networking business unit owned by Broadcom Inc. (NasdaqGS:AVGO), according to The Information. VeloCloud provides both networking software and hardware to major clients, including telecom service providers. Although the exact price of the deal is unknown, it is expected to be under $1 billion, as the unit was generating around $300 million in annual recurring revenue as of October 2024. Interestingly, VeloCloud specializes in software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN), which is a technology that allows companies with many remote employees or branch offices to securely connect to corporate networks using the internet. It also helps protect sensitive data by encrypting connections to cloud applications. Unsurprisingly, this technology is becoming increasingly important as more businesses operate in hybrid and remote environments. It is worth noting that Arista, which competes with Cisco, launched its own SD-WAN product in 2023 and is now looking to expand in that space. The company plans to hire about half of VeloCloud’s 1,000 employees and has already begun offering positions. VeloCloud was originally acquired by VMware in 2017 for $450 million, and later became part of Broadcom when it bought VMware in 2023. Both Arista and Broadcom declined to comment on the deal.
