Dream Finders Homes and Ward Communities Secure $1.3M Maryland Energy Grant to Pioneer Geothermal Leasing with Dandelion Energy and Upstream Lease in New Home Developments Dandelion Energy announced two new homebuilder partnerships, totaling 129 homes, with Dream Finders Homes and Ward Communities. In partnership with Upstream, these projects have been awarded $1.3 million in funding from the Maryland Energy Administration through the Maryland Ground Source Heat Pump Advantage Pilot Program. This partnership represents some of the first community-wide deployments of geothermal through Dandelion and Upstream's first-of-its-kind leasing program. The grant funding will be leveraged to unlock a 40% federal investment tax credit, allowing builders to integrate geothermal systems into their communities at the same or lower cost than traditional HVAC systems. Upstream will serve as a third-party owner of the systems, monetize the tax credit, and pass the financial benefits on to the project. Dandelion Energy will install high-efficiency geothermal heating and cooling across 129 homes in two new communities. Combined, the two projects will deliver annual energy bill savings between 30 and 40% for homeowners and last two times as long as air-source heat pumps. The two communities will reduce peak demand on Maryland's grid by 20% in the summer and 65% in the winter compared to air-source heat pumps. 공시 • Jun 02

Mr. Szubinski brings an extensive and distinguished career in the homebuilding industry, having held senior leadership roles at several of the nation's largest publicly traded homebuilders. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Meritage Homes Corporation, where he oversaw enterprise-wide operations and contributed to the company's national growth strategy. Prior to that role, he served as President of Meritage Homes'East Region, with oversight of operations across Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. His earlier career included the role of Southeast Region President at CalAtlantic Group Inc., Group President at K. Hovnanian Homes, Florida Region President and Orlando Division President, both at Meritage Homes and Division President – Gulf Coast at KB Home. Mr. Szubinski began his career in homebuilding at Centex. He holds degrees in political science, business administration and law from Louisiana State University. The appointment reflects Dream Finders Homes’ continued investment in senior leadership talent as the Company expands its presence across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest markets. A cash consideration valued at $25.75 per share will be paid by Dream Finders Homes, Inc. Kennedy Lewis has provided Dream Finders with a highly confident letter in connection with land bank financing related to the proposed transaction. Dream Finders has also obtained letters from Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC and BofA Securities stating that they are highly confident that financing for the transaction can be arranged in the capital markets.
The transaction is subject to consummation of due diligence investigation and definitive agreement. The deal has been approved by Dream Finders Homes, Inc. board.
