Vishay Intertechnology Introduces Automotive Optocoupler in Sop-5 Package with 3.6 Mm Width Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduced an automotive 1 MBd high speed optocoupler in a new SOP-5 package with a narrow width of 3.6 mm. Combining a comparative tracking index (CTI) of 400 with industry-leading minimum guaranteed common mode transient immunity (CMTI) of 40 kV/µS, the Vishay Semiconductors VOMHA43A is designed to deliver improved signal transmission quality and save space in applications requiring isolation voltages (VIORM) up to 707 Vpeak. The AEC-Q102 qualified device released is optimized for isolated data communication, fast signal switching, ground signal isolation, and logic voltage level shifting in automotive, industrial, home and building control, and telecom applications. In electric (EV), hybrid electric (HEV), and low speed electric (LSEV) vehicles, the optocoupler provides communication bus isolation for CAN, LIN, I²C, and SPI interfaces, as well as isolated drive circuit applications such as intelligent power module (IPM) drivers. While previous SOP-5 packages offered a width of 4.4 mm, the narrower SOP-5 of the VOMHA43A requires less PCB space, while supporting stackable designs. The device’s minimum CMTI — which is more than double that of the closest competing device — provides enhanced robustness against electrical spikes and RF and EMI issues. And while competing devices offer maximum repetitive peak isolation voltages of 567 Vpeak, the optocoupler’s isolation voltage performance of 707 Vpeak meets the requirements of 400 V battery systems. The VOMHA43A consists of a GaAlAs infrared emitting diode, optically coupled with an integrated photodetector and a high speed transistor. The photodetector is junction-isolated from the transistor to reduce miller capacitance effects. The optocoupler features an open collector output function that allows designers to adjust load conditions when interfacing with different logic systems, while a Faraday shield on the detector chip allows the device to reject and minimize high input to output common mode transient voltages. The RoHS-compliant and halogen-free optocoupler operates over a temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C and is pin to pin compatible with competing parts to provide a direct replacement and eliminate the need for electrical and mechanical redesigns. Samples and production quantities of the VOMHA43A are available, with lead times of six weeks. Buy Or Sell Opportunity • Jul 05

Vishay Intertechnology Introduces 34 PHE Multi-Turn Absolute Position Sensor Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduced a new ready-to-use multi-turn absolute position sensor designed for high accuracy and long term stability in demanding environments. Featuring non-contacting Hall Effect technology, the Vishay Sfernice 34 PHE delivers linearity down to ± 1% (full stroke), resolution of 1°, and a lifespan greater than 10 million cycles — all in a 7/8 in (22.2 mm) diameter body. Offering linear or rotary displacement tracking, with a total electrical angle of 3600° across 10 turns, the position sensor released is available at a 40% lower cost than previous-generation devices. Combined with its high accuracy and resolution, this makes the 34 PHE a cost-effective, high performance solution for servo loop motion control systems. The device will be used in industrial motor and actuator displacements tracking; linear actuators for solar panel tracking; flow control valve positioning; and throttle and pedal position sensors for applications such as agricultural machinery, railway equipment, and ships. For reliable operation in these harsh environments, the 34 PHE offers an IP65-rated sealing and withstands high frequency vibrations up to 20 g and shocks up to 50 g. Integrated reverse voltage and overvoltage input protections (-14 VDC and +28 VDC, respectively) reduce costs by eliminating the need for external protection circuitry. The device is configurable with either single or dual analog ratiometric or digital (PWM) output signals. Dual outputs operate as oppositely-tracking position sensors, providing a built-in fault detection to enhance safety, reliability, and functional safety compliance. An integrated locating peg on the mounting face simplifies installation while preventing rotation, improving alignment accuracy and long-term stability. As a “true power on” device, the 34 PHE reports its position immediately upon power-up without requiring recalibration, re-homing, or initialization routines — even after a power loss. This further reduces costs by eliminating the need for a battery back-up. Customizable to meet the most demanding needs, the RoHS-compliant device operates with a supply voltage of 5 VDC ± 10% and a supply current of < 8.5 mA typical (single output). The recommended load resistance is 1 kO for both analog and PWM output. Samples and production quantities of the 34 PHE are available now, with lead times of 14 weeks. 공고 • Jun 30

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. Introduces Automotive Grade Phototransistor Optocoupler For High Isolation Voltage Ratings For 800 V EV Batteries Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduced a new Automotive Grade phototransistor optocoupler designed to deliver signal transmission with high galvanic isolation for electric vehicles (EV) — including emerging 800 V battery architectures — and industrial automation systems. The Vishay Semiconductors VOLA617A combines an isolation voltage of 5,000 VRMS with a VIORM of 1,414 Vpeak and VIOTM of 8,000 Vpeak in a 4-pin LSOP low profile package. The device released is ideal for grid-connected on-board chargers (OBC), DC/DC converters, battery management systems (BMS), isolated wake-up signals, and any system control with galvanic and noise isolation. While most automotive optocouplers can’t be used for battery voltages exceeding 500 V — limiting them to traditional 400 V EV platforms — the ability of the VOLA617A to isolate DC voltages up to 1,000 V enables its use in next-generation high voltage EV architectures. The VOLA617A consists of an infrared emitting diode, optically coupled to a silicon planar phototransistor detector in a low profile package with creepage and clearance distances of = 8 mm. The device is available in four current transfer ratio (CTR) ranges and features a high 80 V collector-emitter voltage rating, allowing for more design flexibility. The optocoupler operates over a wide -40 °C to +125 °C operating temperature — with a junction temperature capability up to +145 °C — while providing low coupling capacitance of 0.5 pF and high common mode transient immunity. Exceeding rigorous requirements for Automotive Grade performance and reliability, the VOLA617A’s robust package provides an extra safety margin by meeting dual AEC-Q102 qualification standards. The device is RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green. Samples and production quantities of the VOLA617A are available now, with lead times of eight weeks. 공고 • Jun 24
