Total value of shares sold: US$540k This is considered a minor risk. There are several reasons why an insider may be selling, including to cover a tax obligation or pay for some other expense. However, we generally consider it a negative if insiders have been selling, especially if they do so below the current price. It implies that they considered a lower price to be reasonable. This is a weak signal, but if there is a pattern of unexplained selling, it can be a sign the insider believes the company's stock is overpriced. Note: We only include open market transactions and private dispositions of directly owned stock by individuals, not by corporations or trusts. Currently, the following risks have been identified for the company: Major Risk Negative equity (-US$1.1b). The company plans to complete the US$1.2b sale of its Depop resale platform to eBay by the end of Q3 2026, with proceeds earmarked for share repurchases and organic growth investments. A new fur ban intended to support biodiversity has raised concerns from Alaska Native artists, who argue the policy could discriminate against Indigenous sellers and affect culturally important products. For investors, the latest quarter shows Etsy leaning into its core marketplace with a focus on AI-driven product discovery, mobile engagement, and increased advertising services. Management reiterated an outlook for low single-digit GMS growth for the full year in what it describes as a stable macro backdrop, framing recent results as part of a push toward sustainable marketplace growth rather than aggressive expansion at any cost. The planned Depop divestiture simplifies the business and creates liquidity for buybacks and internal investments, which can affect both capital allocation and Etsy’s risk profile. At the same time, the fur policy debate highlights a key operational risk: changes intended to reflect environmental priorities can create friction with parts of the seller community. How Etsy balances policy decisions with seller inclusion and buyer expectations will likely remain an important factor in marketplace health and brand perception.ナラティブ更新 • May 04ETSY: Depop Sale And Buybacks Will Support Core Marketplace FocusEtsy's analyst price target has been raised from $61.96 to $71.72 as analysts factor in updated assumptions around revenue growth, profit margins and a slightly lower discount rate. The company’s low exposure to tariffs and unique product offerings position it well against big-box retailers amid rising import costs. Etsy is moving in the right direction, prompting my upgrade to a neutral rating. Rafe Colburn currently serves as Chief Technology & Product Officer at Depop. I'm not surprised by the post-pandemic business weakness. I'm just surprised that it didn't begin sooner. By no means do short-term GMS declines mean the business is in trouble. Etsy management has been conducting large stock buybacks that are progressively retiring more and more shares as the market price has declined. Modeling for Etsy suggests that even in very negative scenarios Etsy's future potential stock downside may be limited. I don't have a specific target price, but I think there's potential for large gains for patient investors. Gross merchandise sales declined 6.8% YoY to $3.7B, with Etsy-specific GMS down 8.6% YoY. Etsy's profit margins increased as it earned more fee revenue on its sellers, yet it saw a sharp decline in sellers, buyers, and sales per customer. In my view, Etsy has become too focused on extracting income from sellers instead of creating a rich ecosystem of buyers and sellers, exposing it to competition from Amazon Handmade. The current economic trend has promoted greater price sensitivity from customers, which does not bode well, given Etsy charges relatively high fees that increase product prices. Although Etsy sees a decline in GMS and Active Buyers on the platform, it is investing in strategic initiatives like an app revamp, improved search, and loyalty program to boost purchase frequency. Meanwhile, its Gifting GMS is a bright spot as it grows above expectation, representing a higher share of Total GMS. With holiday season in the corner, gifting GMS should continue to rise steadily. Although the management has yet to translate its initiatives into tangible results, I believe the favorable FY25 comps environment should be favorable, driving sizable upside for the stock. New Risk • May 07New minor risk - Insider sellingThere has been significant insider selling in the company's shares over the past 3 months. Minor Risks Significant insider selling over the past 3 months (US$540k sold).
ライブニュース • May 05Etsy Posts Q1 Growth With US$1.2b Depop Sale and New Fur Policy Drawing AttentionEtsy reported Q1 2026 GMS on its core marketplace up 5.5% year over year, with services revenue up 10.5% and net income from continuing operations at US$104.7m, compared with a loss of US$35.1m a year earlier. How Etsy balances policy decisions with seller inclusion and buyer expectations will likely remain an important factor in marketplace health and brand perception.

Seeking Alpha • Apr 24Etsy: Back To Basics With Reverb Sale (Rating Upgrade)Summary Etsy's sale of Reverb aims to reduce debt and refocus on core business, potentially aiding its return to growth despite recent stock declines. The company’s low exposure to tariffs and unique product offerings position it well against big-box retailers amid rising import costs. Etsy is moving in the right direction, prompting my upgrade to a neutral rating. Etsy's valuation has improved to ~8x forward-adjusted EBITDA, but it still faces challenges with declining consumer spending and needs to demonstrate a return to customer/revenue growth. Seeking Alpha • Mar 26Etsy Looks Like An Equity Value JuggernautSummary Etsy shares continue to fall as Gross Merchandise Sales volumes have hit a sustained rough patch. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Seeking Alpha • Feb 19Etsy: Abysmal Holiday Sales Signal Need For Improved Customer AcquisitionSummary Etsy reported a GAAP EPS of $1.03, beating expectations by $0.09, but sales missed at $852M, falling short by $9.2M. Seeking Alpha • Jan 09Etsy: Share Repurchases Won't Save The StockSummary Etsy's $1.2 billion net debt constrains its ability to deliver meaningful shareholder value. Share repurchases are unlikely to sustain the stock price without stronger growth fundamentals. Revenue growth rates are flatlining, reducing the platform's long-term appeal. Paying 8x free cash flow for a business with limited upside feels unjustifiable. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Seeking Alpha • Nov 21Etsy: I Agree With Elliott Management's OptimismSummary Elliott Management increased its stake in Etsy, Inc. to 5M shares, as per its 13F filing, signaling confidence in Etsy's long-term potential amidst current investor pessimism.
