The Smarter Web Company Plc Announces Chief Financial Officer Changes The Smarter Web Company PLC announced the promotion of Oliver Hewett to the role of Chief Financial Officer, effective June 16, 2026. Oliver Hewett had served as Group Financial Controller since his appointment on April 27, 2026 and this promotion reflected the Board's recognition of his contribution and capability. Oliver Hewett would serve as a member of the Company's senior leadership team and would not be appointed to the Board of Directors at this time. He would continue to report directly to Andrew Webley, Chief Executive Officer. In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Oliver Hewett would assume expanded responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the Group's financial strategy, planning and reporting; ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions in which the Group operates; progressing the Company's corporate governance framework in line with applicable standards and evolving best practices; managing the Company's relationships and contracts with third-party service providers; supporting the Board and Chief Executive Officer in the assessment and execution of strategic and corporate finance initiatives; and leading and developing the Group's finance function. He would continue to work closely alongside Mario Visconti, Head of Projects, as the Company continued to progress its acquisition strategy. Oliver Hewett brought almost two decades of financial experience spanning institutional investment banking and SME leadership. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, Oliver Hewett began his banking career in commodities finance at Barclays Capital and Bank of America Merrill Lynch before moving to NatWest Markets, where he supported the financial execution of RBS's £29 billion Capital Resolution programme. The Smarter Web Company Plc Announces Appointment of Jon Bird as Head of Marketing, Effective May 18, 2026 The Smarter Web Company Plc announced the appointment of Jon Bird as Head of Marketing, with Effective May 18, 2026. Jon will lead the Company's marketing strategy, overseeing brand development and marketing communications, including digital marketing, PR and content across all channels, as the Company continues to scale its marketing function. Jon joins the Company following the recent acquisition of Squarebird Agency Ltd. ('Squarebird'), as announced on February 23, 2026. Jon co-founded Squarebird in 2015. Squarebird is a well-established and has been to date a consistently profitable web design and digital marketing agency employing over 20 full-time staff. For the financial year ended April 30, 2025, Squarebird generated turnover of approximately £1.40 million and gross profit of approximately £1.28 million, with approximately 40% of revenue recurring over the last five years (unaudited). Following the acquisition, Squarebird became a wholly owned subsidiary of The Smarter Web Company, and Jon will continue to serve as an Executive Director at Squarebird, supporting its leadership team as required. Jon brings over 15 years' experience in digital marketing, with a strong track record in marketing strategy, brand development and integrated campaigns across sectors including finance, consulting, technology and media. He has worked with both FTSE-listed and privately owned companies, leading end-to-end marketing programmes from strategy through to execution. The Smarter Web Company Plc Appoints Jamie Knowles as Head of Capital Markets, Effective 23 March 2026 The Smarter Web Company announced the appointment of Jamie Knowles as Head of Capital Markets, with immediate effect. Jamie has nearly two decades of experience in financial markets, primarily in equity sales trading at global investment banks including Bank of America, Credit Suisse and J.P. Morgan, where he worked with a large number of different institutional investors. He also previously held a senior distribution role at Galaxy Digital, a Nasdaq-listed digital asset firm and most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer at DS3 Crypto, a specialist digital asset consultancy. He brings extensive experience and relationships spanning traditional financial markets and digital assets, which will support the Company's continued development. In this role, Jamie will lead the Company's capital markets strategy, with responsibility for developing strategic relationships, enhancing communication strategies with the investment community and supporting the continued growth of the Company's shareholder base. He will work closely with the Board and senior management to advance the Company's objectives, including increasing Bitcoin per share and delivering long-term shareholder value. Jamie has previously supported the Company in a consulting capacity, contributing to several key initiatives. As the Company continues to scale both its acquisition strategy and its Bitcoin treasury strategy, capital markets expertise is an increasingly important component of the business, and Jamie's appointment reflects the Board's focus on executing these strategies in a disciplined and scalable manner.
