Aurelia Metals Limited Provides an Update to Ongoing Exploration and Evaluation Work At the Federation Deposit
Aurelia Metals Limited provided an update to ongoing exploration and evaluation work at the Federation deposit, located ten kilometres south of the Company's operating Hera Mine. In August, Aurelia reported exceptionally high grade gold and base metals results from Federation, including 21.6 metres at 44.8% Pb+Zn & 31.9g/t Au in FDD086 and 20.5 metres at 44.4% Pb+Zn and 17.4g/t Au in FDD085. Approximately 47,000 metres of exploration and resource infill drilling has now been completed at the Federation deposit following its discovery in April 2019. Further strong gold intercepts are amongst the assay results recently received, including: FRCD074: 25.5 metres at 37.5% Pb+Zn, 11.4g/t Au, 17g/t Ag & 1.2% Cu from 300.5m, includes 9 metres at 46.9% Pb+Zn, 28.9g/t Au, 11g/t Ag & 1.9% Cu from 305m; FDD088: 4.7 metres at 12.7% Pb+Zn, 5.3g/t Au, 8g/t Ag & 0.4% Cu from 102.3m. The mineralisation in hole FRCD074 occurs immediately above the high grade intercept in FDD085, supporting the exceptional gold potential in this part of the deposit. As with the previous announced high grade intercepts, gold in FRCD074 is very coarse grained, occurring in abundant visible grains throughout massive base metal sulphides. The high tenor of copper mineralisation is another notable feature of this zone. Elevated gold grades in FDD088 are highly encouraging as they occur 95 metres below the surface at the upper limits of the current Mineral Resource. The return of multiple other high grade base metal intercepts from the infill drilling program is also encouraging, with results including: FDD098 24.6 metres at 34.2% Pb+Zn, 0.2g/t Au, 13g/t Ag & 0.2% Cu from 165.4m, includes 8.45 metres at 60.9% Pb+Zn, 0.4g/t Au, 18g/t Ag & 0.0% Cu from 177m; FDD089: 15.8 metres at 18.2% Pb+Zn, 0.1g/t Au, 10g/t Ag & 0.3% Cu from 148.2m, includes 5 metres at 43.1% Pb+Zn, 0.3g/t Au, 22g/t Ag & 0.5% Cu from 149m; FDD092: 17 metres at 13.0% Pb+Zn, 0.1g/t Au, 5g/t Ag & 0.3% Cu from 168m, includes 5.2 metres at 43.1% Pb+Zn, 0.3g/t Au, 10g/t Ag & 0.4% Cu from 171.8m; FDD088: 37.2 metres at 7.3% Pb+Zn, 0.1g/t Au, 4g/t Ag & 0.2% Cu from 146.8m, includes 5 metres at 21.9% Pb+Zn, 0.1g/t Au, 12g/t Ag & 0.3% Cu from 163.7m; FDD094 5: metres at 18.1% Pb+Zn, 0.3g/t Au, 17g/t Ag & 0.4% Cu from 173m. Each of these infill intercepts occur in the upper levels of deposit within 160 metres of the surface. Aurelia is continuing to actively evaluate the system with two diamond drill rigs operating at the site. The recent drill results will support a planned Mineral Resource update for the deposit, due to be completed early in the March Quarter of 2021. The Federation Scoping Study continues across multiple workstreams. A conceptual underground mine design and development sequence has recently been prepared for the project, and geotechnical and sterilisation drilling has commenced to support the proposed infrastructure layout including the location of a potential decline boxcut. Other work underway includes assessment of haulage routes and power supply options and ongoing metallurgical test work including differential flotation studies. A capacity assessment of the Hera tailings storage facility has also confirmed the footprint can accommodate the life of mine tailings generated from Hera and the quantity expected from the conceptual mine design for the Federation Project.
