MicroVision will explode future revenue by 380.37% with a vision towards success

The MicroVision ($MVIS) Narrative Inflection: Valuing the Sum of the Parts For years, the market has viewed MicroVision (NASDAQ:MVIS) through a single, narrow lens: a high-risk, pre-revenue bet on automotive LIDAR. This has resulted in a valuation that, in our view, fails to capture the strategic pivot currently underway.

Can The New CEO Save MicroVision's LiDAR Aspirations?

Summary MicroVision remains a high-risk investment as its LiDAR technology lags behind competitors and industry adoption is slow in Western markets. MVIS's product roadmap focuses on cost reduction and sensor suite integration but lacks meaningful technological innovation or clear competitive advantage. I maintain a Sell rating on MVIS, citing persistent execution risks, delayed market adoption, and stronger positioning of rivals like Ouster and Innoviz. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

MicroVision's Financing Strategy: Understanding The Risks Of The Convertible Note

Summary MicroVision's financial update reveals $81M in cash, $153M in additional capital access, and a cash burn rate of $55-$60M, lasting until end of 2025. The convertible note deal, with an 8% discount and 10% interest, poses significant risk if share prices fall below conversion levels. Despite management's reassurances, the stock dropped 16%, and I maintain a "sell" rating due to financial risks and lack of secured deals. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Affirmed Sell For MicroVision

Summary The CEO's candid disclosure of RFQ negotiations has raised eyebrows and may impact OEMs' perception of MicroVision's suitability for nominations. The company faces financial strain, highlighted by its low cash reserves and the need for continuous ATM sales. With doubts about its ability to secure nominations, concerns over product competitiveness, and a cash-intensive development process, MicroVision's stock is predicted to continue its decline. Is MicroVision Stock Overvalued Or Undervalued? It's Significantly Overpriced

MicroVision shares blasted off during the 2021 meme stock moment. However, the company's fundamentals remain uninspiring and shares appear to be dramatically overvalued. With almost no revenues coming in, MicroVision has to resort to unending share dilution to keep operations going. MicroVision (MVIS) is a small technology company that has attempted to commercialize a variety of different ideas. Currently, the company's primary focus is on light detection and ranging "lidar" systems, which are used in autonomous vehicles. For a while, MicroVision was one of the only publicly-traded lidar stocks in the United States, giving it appeal and a sort of scarcity value on this technology. However, with the SPAC boom, a number of larger and better funded competitors such as Luminar Technologies (LAZR) came to market. That being the case, interest in MicroVision has diminished recently, and the share price has slipped. Is there hope for a turnaround? Unfortunately, even at the lower share price, MVIS stock remains overvalued and highly risky going forward. MVIS Stock Key Statistics MicroVision was founded in 1993. What has the company accomplished over the years? According to the company's 10-K, MicroVision has created all sorts of proprietary products and technologies: "Throughout our history, we have combined our proprietary technology with our development expertise to create innovative solutions to address existing and emerging market needs, such as augmented reality microdisplay engines; interactive display modules; consumer lidar components; and, most recently, automotive lidar sensors and solutions for the automotive market." Sounds promising, right? Yet, when we turn to MicroVision's most important stat - revenues - we find a major shortcoming: MVIS Revenue ((TTM)) data by YCharts Over the past decade, MicroVision has never produced more than $20 million of revenue in a single year. Even the relative success of 2018 would soon disappear as revenues dropped from a peak of $17 million to less than $2 million last year. Is MicroVision Overvalued? In a word: Yes. MicroVision has a market cap of $845 million against less than $2 million of projected 2022 revenues. The company hasn't produced an operating profit for even one year out of the past decade. And its past product launches routinely underwhelm. Here's former MicroVision CEO Perry Mulligan talking up interactive displays in July 2019: "Consequently, we now expect Display-only and Interactive Display products could launch in mid-2020, with first revenue to us likely starting in Q2 2020 and the potential for profitability, depending on volumes and product mix considerations, one quarter later," Mulligan suggested that the company could be profitable by the end of 2020. Instead, MicroVision produced almost no revenues at all in 2020, from displays or otherwise, and came up with a large operating loss like usual. After more than twenty years as a publicly-traded company, MicroVision needs to deliver actual results rather than just an encouraging narrative. Is MicroVision Expected To Go Up? Some traders believe MicroVision shares should rally due to high short interest. There is some precedence for this. MVIS shares rose spectacularly in 2021 during the Reddit/WallStreetBets meme stock phenomenon, with shares going from the pennies to $25 at one point: MVIS data by YCharts On message boards and social media, unsubstantiated rumors went around suggesting that MicroVision was about to win major contracts or be a buyout target for a larger tech company such as Nvidia (NVDA). Some disruption-themed ETFs also piled into MicroVision shares amid the excitement. The Direxion Moonshot Innovators ETF (MOON), for example, made MVIS stock one of its top holdings. When nothing came of this chatter, however, shares quickly crashed. And, though meme stock excitement has bubbled up again lately in stocks such as Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY), as of yet, there's been little sign of any similar rekindling of interest in MicroVision. Bulls can point to the fact that 26% of MVIS stock's float is currently sold short. And short sellers are paying a high fee to borrow shares, currently 18% per year at Interactive Brokers, for example. However, high short interest is often a sign that a company's prospects are dim. Bears rarely press bets against a company to this extent unless they're quite confident that shares will trade lower in the future.

Is MicroVision Stock A Good Buy Or Is It A Sell? What To Consider

Advancements in autonomous driving technology, paired with tightening regulations over vehicle safety have underpinned global demand for automotive LiDAR sensors in recent years. MicroVision, a veteran in the development of laser beam scanning technology used in LiDAR sensors, is one of several companies vying for a share of the growing automotive LiDAR market. MicroVision has recently developed a long-range automotive LiDAR that has an unmatchable range capability of up to 250-meters, with high resolution and an ability to detect other LiDARs in range. In addition to best-in-class performance, the compact nature of MicroVision's long-range LiDAR and competitive pricing enabled by scalability makes the product well-positioned for growth opportunities ahead. But significant burdens from its cost structure and aggressive pricing strategy, combined with the recent announcement of an at-the-market equity facility, are expected to place additional pressure on the stock's performance. As a result, we believe MicroVision's stock is currently reflective of the underlying business' intrinsic value, and are assigning a neutral rating on the stock.

MicroVision: This Meme Stock Is Still Massively Overvalued

MicroVision trades almost entirely on meme hype and the fact that it has a high short interest. The Lidar technology firm has almost no revenues and no clear path for monetization. Yet, MicroVision, a firm in its development stage, trades at 571 times sales and 35 times book value. MicroVision is poised to fall to its pre-hype price.
