Konecranes Oyj Unveils Modular Generation D Lift Truck Platform With Global Launch Of New Reach Stackers Konecranes introduced its new Generation D lift truck platform at the TOC Europe exhibition in Hamburg, Germany, marking a transition to a modular generation of equipment designed for maximum performance with minimum complexity. The first Generation D models are diesel and electric reach stackers, now available for ordering. The global, modular Generation D platform enables Konecranes lift trucks to be easily configured for customers' different operational needs, while the common architecture simplifies fleet management and maintenance. The platform will meet all upcoming EU regulatory requirements, including those covering machinery safety and cybersecurity. Generation D is built on open cyber-secure digital architecture that can integrate seamlessly with terminal operating systems and third-party applications. Over-the-air update capabilities help keep equipment software up to date, maintain optimal performance, and enable new features to be added over time. Remote monitoring and diagnostics capabilities support troubleshooting and maintenance activities, ultimately helping to reduce unexpected downtime. The new Konecranes diesel reach stackers introduced on the Generation D platform continue to deliver the proven performance that makes the model so popular with customers. The machines combine their familiar durability with simplified and highly predictable maintenance for even higher uptime in demanding container handling operations. The new electric reach stackers on the Generation D platform produce zero tailpipe emissions during operation. Acceleration can be up to 25% faster than comparable diesel models, while a selection of market-leading high-energy-density battery packages and fast-charging combinations optimize the electric reach stacker for single shifts or 24/7 operations. Both the diesel and electric versions retain the familiar ergonomics and superior visibility from earlier generations, complemented by a new Konecranes intuitive digital interface that provides a clear view of core operational data, making it easier for drivers to focus on their work. Initially the Generation D reach stackers will be prioritized for the European and North American markets due to upcoming regulations. Konecranes is already working on expanding the Generation D lift truck platform to also include forklifts and empty and laden container handlers. This launch is part of Ecolifting, Konecranes' comprehensive step-by-step roadmap to zero tailpipe emissions that supports the decarbonization of port operations. solutions range from renewable diesel-powered drives, to hybrid and fully-electrified fleets, and emerging options like hydrogen, all designed to meet the needs of each customer and for the future. A strong focus on customers and commitment to business growth and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader. This is underpinned by investments in digitalization and technology, plus work to make material flows more efficient with solutions that support the decarbonization of the economy and advance circularity and safety. Konecranes Shows Electrified Lift Trucks, Mobile Harbor Cranes and Horizontal Transport Solutions At Intermodal South America 2026 Konecranes is showing its electrified lift trucks, mobile harbor cranes and horizontal transport solutions at Intermodal South America 2026 in São Paulo, Brazil from April 14- April 16. Ports and terminals on the continent are turning to Konecranes as they transition to electrified and automated operations, supported by a comprehensive network of local distributors and service partners. A Brazilian customer recently became the first operator in South America to adopt Konecranes electric empty container handlers. Two units of the Konecranes E-ACE 7/8 ECC 90 will support daily stacking and repositioning at the Port of Santos in Brazil. This follows earlier electrification developments in Brazil supported by Konecranes, including the adoption of electric RTGs at container terminals. The full Konecranes portfolio of electric lift trucks is available in South America. A recent addition is the Konecranes electric reach stacker, which delivers up to 16 hours of operation on a single charge. Downtime is minimized through a fast-charging capability that allows the batteries to be fully recharged in as little as 1-3 hours. The new lift trucks combine high performance with strong safety and ergonomic standards, ensuring a comfortable and efficient operator environment. They are also equipped with TRUCONNECT Remote Monitoring, providing real-time insights to support preventive maintenance and maximize equipment uptime. On the quay side, the newly launched Konecranes Gottwald ESP.4 Mobile Harbor Crane extends the Generation 6 portfolio and supports the diverse operational requirements of South America's ports and terminals. The newest mobile harbor crane family member is the smallest in size - but not in capability - providing a high level of multi-purpose handling across container, bulk material and general/project cargo for smaller ports in particular. This new crane offers the best from the Generation 6, with the modular drive enabling fully electric operation while allowing hybrid and diesel configurations where required. Electric drive technology provides a common foundation across the Konecranes portfolio, supporting consistent performance and standardized maintenance for different equipment types and environments. Konecranes also offers electrification solutions for horizontal transport and ship-to-shore operations. Across South America, a strong network of local distributors and service partners provide Konecranes spare parts and technical expertise for specific operating conditions. This presence ensures reliable equipment performance and positions Konecranes to support customers' long-term fleet development. Ankündigung • Mar 10

Konecranes Introduces the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Straddle Carrier Konecranes is introducing its Konecranes Noell Hydrogen Fuel Cell Straddle Carrier to the Americas and the world at the TOC Americas 2025 event in Panama City. The straddle carrier will debut alongside the Konecranes E-Hybrid RTG and electric empty container handler, showing the concrete steps the company is taking towards offering a comprehensive portfolio of low- to zero-tailpipe-emission products. The new hydrogen-driven straddle carrier is currently being tested at Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG's (HHLA) hydrogen test field in Hamburg, and initial test results show the same high performance as diesel and hybrid versions. Konecranes is also showcasing in Panama City its E-Hybrid RTG, which exploits Konecranes' proven battery technology along with conventional cable reel or busbar systems connected to the local grid. The batteries are the primary power source, charged by the cable reel or busbar system when needed. This solution is a game-changer for container terminals that suffer frequent power blackouts and are thus reliant on diesel RTGs. Such terminals can also realize significant electrical infrastructure savings versus electric RTGs powered by cable reel or busbar systems. Ankündigung • Jun 19
Konecranes Announces its New E-Hybrid Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) Crane and Electric Open Container Hander Konecranes announced its new E-Hybrid Rubber-Tired Gantry (RTG) crane and electric empty container handler for the global market at the TOC Europe exhibition in Rotterdam, moving it one step closer to its goal of having fully electric variants of its entire port equipment portfolio by 2026. The new Konecranes E-Hybrid RTG expands the meaning of hybrid power beyond traditional diesel-battery RTG operation to electric-battery operation, a vital option especially for terminals currently unable to drop diesel power given the need for back-up if blackouts occur. Even short, one- or two-second blackouts cause emergency stops, brake issues and maintenance problems, while longer outages halt operations completely. Container terminals can charge the E-Hybrid RTG batteries via a cable reel or busbar system during the normal flow of operations. The electrical power requirement for battery charging is 60 kW, much less than the up to 400 kW needed for RTGs powered directly by cable reel or busbar systems. Therefore, significant CAPEX savings can be achieved when building or adjusting the container yard infrastructure. All of the parts are field-proven, including Konecranes' RTG battery technology, currently used in over 200 hybrid Konecranes RTGs globally. Konecranes has already received an order for E-Hybrid RTGs from a Brazilian container terminal, and the E-Hybrid RTGs is now available globally. KonecranES is also rolling out its electric empty container handler 9-10t in Europe and North America after successful launches in Asia, MEA and Latin America. The truck has been praised by customers, who like its fast acceleration and lifting speed, quick charging, low noise and vibration, and zero tailpipe emissions. This empty container handler is the latest addition to the series of fully electric lift trucks that Konecranes has introduced in recent years, starting with the 10-18t and 18-25t electric forklifts. These introductions at TOC Europe 2025 are part of Ecolifting, Konecranes' vision to increase its handprint - meaning the beneficial environmental impact that can be achieved with product and service portfolio - while reducing customers' carbon footprints. From eco-optimizing diesel drives, to hybridization and fully-electrified fleets, will continue to do more with less. A strong focus on customers and commitment to business growth and continuous improvement make Konecranes a material handling industry leader.
