EU#6 - From Political Experiment to Global Aerospace Power
Great point – and thanks for the clarification. You’re absolutely right: the 737 MAX was Boeing’s reaction to Airbus launching the A320neo. Airbus moved first with the re-engining strategy, which arguably pushed Boeing into an accelerated response timeline. From an investor’s perspective, what fascinates me is how that strategic move reshaped competitive dynamics for more than a decade. The A320neo wasn’t just a product update – it meaningfully shifted the balance within the duopoly. And I fully agree on leasing – AerCap & co. capture a structurally attractive part of aviation economics. That definitely deserves a separate deep dive. Thanks as well for the suggestion for the next candidate in the EU Series.
