NextEra Energy: Paducah Adds Upside, But Dominion Adds Risk

Summary NextEra Energy (NEE) is targeting 8%+ annual EPS growth through 2032, driven by a robust renewables backlog and major data center demand. NEE’s Paducah project with Brookfield expands AI infrastructure exposure but remains preliminary, with significant earnings impact years away. Regulatory intervention in the $67B Dominion merger introduces near-term uncertainty, potentially impacting deal economics and timeline. At 21x forward earnings, NEE’s valuation already prices in strong execution; I rate shares Hold due to balanced risk/reward. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

Investor Thesis: Why the NextEra Energy / Dominion Energy Merger Could Be a Major AI Power Infrastructure Event

Governor Spanberger: If Affordability Is the Goal, Why Intervene Against a Merger With a Proven Lower-Cost Utility Operator? Governor Spanberger’s unprecedented decision to formally intervene in the proposed NextEra Energy–Dominion Energy merger raises a fundamental question: If protecting Virginia ratepayers from high electricity costs is the objective, why approach a combination with NextEra Energy with such skepticism when NextEra’s flagship utility, Florida Power & Light, has demonstrated for decades that a massive utility can operate reliably, efficiently and at comparatively low customer costs?
