The Wendy's Company: Store Execution Is Improving, But U.S. Recovery Is Still Missing

Summary Wendy's remains a hold as valuation reflects weak fundamentals despite improved company-operated store performance. Project Fresh shows promise, with company stores outperforming by 310 bps, but only half the system has adopted the playbook. WEN: Take Private Hopes Will Not Offset Ongoing U.S. Sales Weakness

Analysts have modestly increased their price target on Wendy's, citing reports of possible take-private interest from Trian Fund Management, mixed but generally supportive rating changes, and slightly higher modeled revenue growth, profit margins, and future P/E assumptions, with recent targets such as $12 from Argus providing a reference point for the updated view. Analyst Commentary Recent research has highlighted both potential upside if a take private deal materializes and a series of more cautious updates that keep expectations in check.
