On March 22, 2021, Aéroports de Paris launched a call for tenders with publication in the Official Journal of the European Union, to select an industrial partner to create a joint venture dedicated to the management of restaurant points of sales at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports, for a period of ten years. Following this tender, Select Service Partner (SSP) was selected as the industrial partner to acquire 50% of the capital and voting rights of Extime Food & Beverage Paris. In line with merger control regulations, Aéroports de Paris and SSP jointly notified the French Competition Authority of their plans to create this joint venture. During the investigation of the notified transaction, the French Competition Authority opened an in-depth analysis phase1. At the end of this last phase, the French Competition Authority issued, on August 4, 2023, a favorable decision unconditionally authorizing implementation of the notified transaction. SSP and Aéroports de Paris will now be able to set up this joint venture as soon as possible and begin selecting the food and beverage partners it needs to support its hospitality strategy.
