Given that Impinj didn't make a profit in the last twelve months, we'll focus on revenue growth to form a quick view of its business development. Generally speaking, companies without profits are expected to grow revenue every year, and at a good clip. Some companies are willing to postpone profitability to grow revenue faster, but in that case one would hope for good top-line growth to make up for the lack of earnings.

In the last 5 years Impinj saw its revenue grow at 20% per year. Even measured against other revenue-focussed companies, that's a good result. Arguably, this is well and truly reflected in the strong share price gain of 46%(per year) over the same period. It's never too late to start following a top notch stock like Impinj, since some long term winners go on winning for decades. So we'd recommend you take a closer look at this one, but keep in mind the market seems optimistic.

A Different Perspective

It's good to see that Impinj has rewarded shareholders with a total shareholder return of 65% in the last twelve months. That's better than the annualised return of 46% over half a decade, implying that the company is doing better recently.
