Nanobiotix: A Highly Speculative Bet On A Potential Radiotherapy Platform

Summary Nanobiotix is rated a strong speculative Buy, driven by risk-adjusted upside from its JNJ-1900 radioenhancer platform in partnership with Janssen. NBTX’s lead indication, head and neck cancer, offers a modeled $624M valuation, but lung cancer programs—despite higher risk—represent two-thirds of the $4.5B risk-adjusted opportunity. JNJ-1900’s platform potential is vast, with even low-probability broad adoption scenarios materially boosting valuation; upcoming clinical milestones in 2026–2027 are pivotal. Current cash runway extends into 2029, reducing near-term financing risk, while the Johnson & Johnson partnership de-risks late-stage development and supports multi-indication expansion. Current development programs target only a fraction of the potential injectable radiotherapy market, leaving substantial long-term platform optionality. Read the full article on Seeking Alpha

French biotech Nanobiotix (NASDAQ:NBTX) on Tuesday said it had reached a final agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) to re-align about €30.7M in outstanding debt obligations with its expected development and commercialization timelines. Nanobiotix agrees in principle to restructure debt obligations with EU's investment bank

French biotech Nanobiotix (NASDAQ:NBTX) on Monday said it had reached an agreement in principle to restructure €30.7M in outstanding debt obligations related to its 2018 loan agreement with the European Investment Bank. NBTX said the debt restructuring was done to realign debt obligations with the company's development and commercialization timelines. The company said that execution of the amendment to the debt obligations is expected in Q4 2022 after the legal documents are finalized. "Restructuring existing debt obligations to extend the maturity date of the loan will enable Nanobiotix to drive priority development programs in 2023 by extending operating runway an additional quarter," NBTX CFO Bart Van Rhijn said in a statement. NBTX said the restructuring of the debt obligations combined with capital available through its existing equity line allows the company to extend its operating runway into Q1 2024. U.S.-listed shares of NBTX +0.2% to $4.17 in mid-day trading.
