In the last year, multiple insiders have substantially increased their holdings of V.F. Corporation (NYSE:VFC) stock, indicating that insiders' optimism about the company's prospects has increased.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

V.F Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

The President Bracken Darrell made the biggest insider purchase in the last 12 months. That single transaction was for US$1.0m worth of shares at a price of US$15.38 each. That implies that an insider found the current price of US$17.03 per share to be enticing. That means they have been optimistic about the company in the past, though they may have changed their mind. If someone buys shares at well below current prices, it's a good sign on balance, but keep in mind they may no longer see value. Happily, the V.F insiders decided to buy shares at close to current prices.
