Some Axon Enterprise, Inc. (NASDAQ:AXON) shareholders may be a little concerned to see that the President, Joshua Isner, recently sold a substantial US$2.1m worth of stock at a price of US$363 per share. However, that sale only accounted for 3.7% of their holding, so arguably it doesn't say much about their conviction.

Axon Enterprise Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

In fact, the recent sale by President Joshua Isner was not their only sale of Axon Enterprise shares this year. They previously made an even bigger sale of -US$14m worth of shares at a price of US$312 per share. That means that an insider was selling shares at slightly below the current price (US$385). As a general rule we consider it to be discouraging when insiders are selling below the current price, because it suggests they were happy with a lower valuation. While insider selling is not a positive sign, we can't be sure if it does mean insiders think the shares are fully valued, so it's only a weak sign. This single sale was just 22% of Joshua Isner's stake.
