Shareholders in SABIC Agri-Nutrients Company (TADAWUL:2020) may be thrilled to learn that the analysts have just delivered a major upgrade to their near-term forecasts. The consensus estimated revenue numbers rose, with their view now clearly much more bullish on the company's business prospects.

There was no particular change to the consensus price target of ر.س170, with SABIC Agri-Nutrients' latest outlook seemingly not enough to result in a change of valuation. It could also be instructive to look at the range of analyst estimates, to evaluate how different the outlier opinions are from the mean. Currently, the most bullish analyst values SABIC Agri-Nutrients at ر.س190 per share, while the most bearish prices it at ر.س136. These price targets show that analysts do have some differing views on the business, but the estimates do not vary enough to suggest to us that some are betting on wild success or utter failure.

Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. It's clear from the latest estimates that SABIC Agri-Nutrients' rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 23% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2022 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 18% p.a. over the past five years. Compare this with other companies in the same industry, which are forecast to see a revenue decline of 0.7% annually. It seems obvious that as part of the brighter growth outlook, SABIC Agri-Nutrients is expected to grow faster than the wider industry.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away from this upgrade is that analysts lifted their revenue estimates for this year. Analysts also expect revenues to perform better than the wider market. Seeing the dramatic upgrade to this year's forecasts, it might be time to take another look at SABIC Agri-Nutrients.
