Even if it's not a huge purchase, we think it was good to see that Ros-Marie Grusén, the Chief Executive Officer of Komplett ASA (OB:KOMPL) recently shelled out kr585k to buy stock, at kr13.00 per share. That purchase might not be huge but it did increase their holding by 26%.

Komplett Insider Transactions Over The Last Year

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Chief Commercial Officer Andreas Westgaard for kr812k worth of shares, at about kr8.12 per share. Although we like to see insider buying, we note that this large purchase was at significantly below the recent price of kr12.50. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

Over the last year, we can see that insiders have bought 145.00k shares worth kr1.4m. But they sold 8.33k shares for kr69k. In the last twelve months there was more buying than selling by Komplett insiders. The average buy price was around kr9.63. It is certainly positive to see that insiders have invested their own money in the company. However, we do note that they were buying at significantly lower prices than today's share price. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. Does Komplett Boast High Insider Ownership?

Many investors like to check how much of a company is owned by insiders. A high insider ownership often makes company leadership more mindful of shareholder interests. Our data suggests Komplett insiders own 1.0% of the company, worth about kr23m. But they may have an indirect interest through a corporate structure that we haven't picked up on. I generally like to see higher levels of ownership.

What Might The Insider Transactions At Komplett Tell Us?

It's certainly positive to see the recent insider purchase. We also take confidence from the longer term picture of insider transactions. However, we note that the company didn't make a profit over the last twelve months, which makes us cautious. When combined with notable insider ownership, these factors suggest Komplett insiders are well aligned, and that they may think the share price is too low. Therefore, you should definitely take a look at this FREE report showing analyst forecasts for Komplett.
