FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation Introduces Transducer for On-Pump Intracardiac Echocardiography Imaging (OPIE) for Septal Myectomy FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corporation announced the launch of its OPIE Transducer for on-pump intracardiac echocardiography (OPIE) for septal myectomy. Early clinical users of the OPIE transducer will discuss how the technology helps to evaluate the ventricular septal thickness during septal myectomy surgery by providing real-time imaging visualization during the 104th American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) meeting held April 27-30 in Toronto, ON, Canada. Traditionally, a cardiothoracic surgeon uses transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) before performing septal myectomy. Currently, TEE cannot be leveraged during cardiac bypass surgery. Instead, a surgeon views the patient's septal thickness via TEE prior to performing open-heart surgery and would trim the septum - if necessary - without real-time guidance. However, with OPIE, a thin transducer is passed into the heart during the myectomy where images of the patient's septal thick can be seen in real-time. Real-time measurements of the interventricular septal thickness are crucial during septal myectomy to avoid creating a ventricular septal defect while resecting enough myocardium. The OPIE transducer is compatible with Fujifilm's premium ultrasound system, the ARIETTA Precision. During the AATS annual meeting, Daniel G. Swistel, MD, Professor, Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Nicolas Smedira, MD, Cardiothoracic Surgeon with the Cleveland Clinic, will discuss their clinical experience using Fujifilm's ARIETTA Precision with the OPIE transducer during open heart surgery, and explain the advantages of cardiothoracic surgeons having real-time visualization to help assist with septal myectomy surgical procedures. Their joint presentation is taking place on April 27th from 6:20-6:40 pm at the Product Technology Theatre (Theatre 2). In addition to the OPIE Transducer and ARIETTA Precision Ultrasound system, Fujifilm will also demonstrate the ELUXEO Vision, an FDA-designated Breakthrough Device that provides real-time tissue oxygenation visualization for laparoscopic and endoscopic applications at AATS booth #431A. Also during the AATS annual meeting, Takeo Fujita, MD, PhD, FACS, Director, Division of Digestive Surgical Oncology, Esophageal Surgery with the National Cancer Center Hospital East, Japan, will discuss how the ELUXEO Vision helps assess tissue oxygen saturation and its correlation with indocyanine green in the gastric conduit during thoracic esophagectomy on April 29 from 9:00-9:30 am at the Tech Theater Session II. The OPIE transduer is currently available in the United States and is pending regulatory requirements in Canada. Announcement • Mar 28

Fujifilm Launches Fujifilm Projector Z6000 FUJIFILM Corporation announces it will launch “FUJIFILM PROJECTOR Z6000” in late July 2022. The new model joins the lineup of the Z Series of ultra-short-throw projectors, equipped with the industry’s only1 “folded two-axial rotatable lens.” FP-Z6000 offers a bright 6,000 lumens image projection capability and class-leading2 compact (460mm x 510mm x 162.5mm3) and lightweight design. By simply rotating “folded two-axial rotatable lens,” it is able to throw images at various directions. FP-Z6000 is also free from space constraints to accommodate highly immersive spatial designs, due to its ability to project large images from a close-up distance and to reposition them within an extensive vertical and horizontal range. In recent years, applications for projectors have been increasingly expanding into spatial design at commercial facilities, museums, and art galleries. Fujifilm entered into the projector market with the launch of the Z Series of projectors equipped with the world’s first “folded two-axial rotatable lens” in 2019. The “FUJIFILM PROJECTOR Z8000” (FP-Z8000) that the company subsequently introduced in 2021 provides bright image projection and excellent color reproduction. Users can place FP-Z8000 in inconspicuous places, drawing on the ability of the “folded two-axial rotatable lens” to project images toward various directions as well as the ability to throw massive images from a close-up distance. Since FP-Z8000 is capable of creating immersive spaces without blocking the beholders’ line of sight, its adoption in museums or immersive digital art exhibitions has been spreading. With the launch of FP-Z6000, Fujifilm adds a high-brightness model to the Z Series lineup. The company aims to expand the attraction of the series by further increasing the customers’ options. Featuring a “folded two-axial rotatable lens” for spatial presentation as intended by designer “Folded two-axial rotatable lens” can be tilted 90 degrees from the lens mount axis and rotated 360 degrees on the lens axis. The ability to throw images in various directions allows users to project images onto not only walls and screens but also ceilings and floors with ease. It can also create immersive space by hiding the main unit and exposing only lens section. Projecting massive 100-inch images from a close-up distance of 72cm The ultra-short throw lens with the TR value of 0.34 projects dynamic 100-inch images from a close-up distance of 72cm. This significantly reduces dead space between the projector and the projection surface, allowing maximum use of space. Class-leading2Wide Lens-Shift Range4 capable of 70% vertically and 35% horizontally. The use of a large-diameter aspherical lens element delivers the class-leading Lens-Shift function of up to 70% vertically and 35% horizontally. The function makes it easy to shift the position of projected images across a wide range without having to change the location of the main unit or direction of the lens. Furthermore, its 1.1x optical zoom capability means the size of projected images can be adjusted easily. This optical zoom capability can be combined with the Lens Shift function to enable efficient image adjustments. FP-Z6000 adopts the “Two-Group Focusing Mechanism,” with which the projector can independently adjust the focus of the central and peripheral parts of an image. Even when users shift the position of projected images with the Lens-Shift function, the Two-Group Focusing Mechanism allows for the projector to adjust its focal placement and offer images focused from their center to periphery. FUJIFILM Corporation Begins U.S. Clinical Phase 2a Study of FF-10832 in Combination with KEYTRUDA for Patients with Advanced Solid Tumors FUJIFILM Corporation announced that it has begun implementation of a phase 2a study in the U.S. to evaluate safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of FF-10832, a liposomal drug candidate, in combination therapy with Merck & Co. Inc., Rahway, N.J., U.S.A.’s anti-PD-1 therapy KEYTRUDA® (pembrolizumab) for patients with advanced solid tumors. FF-10832 is a liposomal formulation which encapsulates gemcitabine, an approved anti-cancer agent indicated for the treatment of a variety of solid tumors. The primary focus of the trial is to establish the safety and tolerability of FF-10832 in combination with KEYTRUDA in patients with advanced solid tumors, and evaluate its preliminary efficacy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and urothelial cancer (UC) patients who have progressed after standard therapy, including immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. This trial will enroll up to 100 patients in two indications (UC and NSCLC) into one of two treatment arms (monotherapy or in combination with KEYTRUDA). Fujifilm has completed the phase 1 dose escalation of FF-10832 monotherapy, and is currently conducting an expansion phase. FF-10832 is administered as an intravenous infusion. It consists of liposomes, artificially constructed lipid vesicles that resemble biological membranes in composition and physical properties, encapsulating gemcitabine. Encapsulating a therapeutic agent in liposomes is believed to enhance pharmacological efficacy of that agent by prolonging its circulation and improving delivery of it specifically at the tumor site. An exploratory endpoint of the clinical phase 2a study is to determine whether encapsulating gemcitabine in liposomes enhances pharmacological efficacy. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that the combination of FF-10832 and immune checkpoint inhibitors impact CD8-positive T cells and may lead to longer survival compared to monotherapy. KEYTRUDA is an anti-PD-1 immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy. Board Change • May 31
