Wabash Showcases Durable Digitally Connected Trailer Solutions Wabash demonstrated how durable engineering and digital intelligence are transforming trailer lifecycle performance at the 2026 Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exhibition March 16-19 in Nashville. At booth #3218, Wabash showcased its DuraPlate dry van platform alongside new cargo assurance technology, digital configuration and order tracking tools and OEM-backed parts solutions designed to help fleets extend asset life, reduce downtime and maximize revenue potential from every trailer. The booth experience centered on a full DuraPlate dry van trailer, highlighting the engineering, durability and serviceability features that have made the platform a benchmark for long term-fleet performance. Key features on display include: DuraPlate composite panel construction engineered for long-term durability, AAR-rated galvanized kingpin package for enhanced corrosion resistance, Galvanized components designed to extend service life, Phillips rearview camera system for improved operational visibility, Kinedyne J & K-Track cargo management systems, Interior cargo cameras to support optimized loading visibility, Advanced edge detection technology designed to improve operational awareness. Wabash also showcased its new cargo assurance solution designed to help fleets strengthen cargo security and improve shipment visibility. The patent-pending solution integrates a digitally connected cargo door and an intelligent locking system with the TrailerHawk.AI technology platform. By linking physical access control with real-time digital visibility, the system enables fleets to monitor cargo access, detect potential security risks and maintain chain-of-custom throughout transit. This approach transforms cargo security from passive monitoring into active assurance by creating secure points of contact at the cargo door and enabling encrypted communication, in-transit monitoring and proactive intervention. The TrailerHawk.AI digital assurance and chain-of-custody workflows are in use today with carriers using the mobile application for inspections, verification and asset visibility. At TMC, attendees can experience live demonstrations of the cargo door and lock, along with TrailerHawk.AI workflows including real-time alerts, verified access and chain-of-custody tracking. Wabash also highlighted a growing suite of digital innovations designed to simplify specification, maintenance planning, and parts ordering. Solutions on display include: Spec It – digital trailer specification platform, Track It – asset tracking and visibility tools, Stock It – parts inventory management support, PartsIQ – Wabash’s e-commerce platform for OEM-backed parts. Combined with Wabash’s nationwide dealer network and Preferred Partner Network, these innovations create a comprehensive lifecycle support ecosystem that helps fleets accelerate repairs, reduce downtime and maintain predictable maintenance costs. Wabash representatives were available throughout TMC to demonstrate the DuraPlate dry van platform, TrailerHawk cargo security technology and the company’s integrated parts and digital fleet management innovations, while discussing strategies to help fleets improve durability, uptime and lifecycle performance. Wabash Unveils Next-Generation Cargo Assurance Solution At Manifest 2026 Wabash announced the debut of a next-generation cargo assurance solution at Manifest 2026 in Las Vegas. This patent pending integrated solution pairs a digitally connected cargo door and intelligent locking system with the TrailerHawk.AITM technology platform to link physical access control with real-time visibility and actionable assurance events to help prevent cargo theft. Cargo theft remains a growing challenge across the U.S. supply chain. New research from the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) released in October 2025 estimates that cargo theft costs the industry as much as $6.6 billion annually. The Wabash solution is designed to help shippers, carriers and 3PLs transition from after-the-fact loss response to earlier detection and clearer accountability by providing verified access, exception alerts and an end-to-end record of custody. Traditional cargo security tools such as disposable seals and passive tracking devices offer limited protection and little control. Wabash's cargo assurance solution combines a purpose-built cargo door and intelligent locking system With TrailerHawk.AI's connected platform, delivering real-time visibility and alerts wherever the cargo travels. The new solution transforms cargo assurance from passive monitoring into active assurance by creating multiple secure points of contact at the cargo door, enabling encrypted communication, in-transit monitoring and proactive intervention. The solution is also designed to combat "str strategic" or orchestrated cargo theft, where legitimate drivers are entirely used in fraud schemes due to broken information chains. By validating driver identity and carrier relationships and connecting those checks to physical access at the cargo door, customers can reduce uncertainty at handoffs and strengthen in-transit control. The TrailerHawk.AI digital assurance and chain-of-custody workflows are in use with carriers using the mobile application for inspections, verification and asset visibility. The solution will first launch as a retrofit option for TaaS Pools in 2026. Next, it will be available as an option on new Wabash trailers or as a Wabash trailer retrofit in 2027 and expand from there. At Manifest, attendees can experience live demonstrations of the cargo door and lock, along with TrailerHawk.AI workflows including real-time alerts, verified access and chain-of-custody tracking. Wabash will also host a break session with Brett Suma on the Manifest Innovation stage on February 10 at 10:50 a.m. His session, "The Future of Cargo Assurance," will walk through how the physical and digital components work together to deliver active cargo assurance. Wabash National Corporation Redefines Trailer Accessibility with Trailers as A Service Wabash National Corporation announced new Trailers as a Service (TaaS) category offerings, designed to transform how trailer capacity is sourced, managed and deployed across North America. The TaaS portfolio introduces two solutions, TaaS Pools and TaaS Plus, each designed to solve distinct challenges facing shippers, 3PLs and carriers. Together, these offerings deliver the flexibility, scalability, and visibility needed in today's supply chain without the long-term cost and risk of trailer ownership. TaaS Pools provides shippers with a universal, service-provider-agnostic trailer pool that replaces the complexity of managing fragmented pools across different partners. Instead of sourcing and maintaining separate pockets of capacity, shippers gain access to a nationwide pool of trailers positioned to support their operations. The program reduces dwell, improves dock efficiency, and ensures predictable, consistent trailer availability. Every trailer in the pool is supported by Wabash FleetCare for maintenance and compliance, giving customers confidence that equipment is always road-ready. TaaS Plus is designed for 3PLs and brokers that want to operate more like asset carriers without the capital requirements of owning equipment. The program includes three service tiers, allowing customers to choose the level of support and coverage that best fits their network -- from trailer capacity access to full-service programs with compliance, maintenance and operational support. This tiered structure lets providers scale up or down as demand shifts, giving them flexibility while keeping costs predictable. Both offerings are powered by TrailerHawk.ai, Wabash's platform that combines advanced technology, operational expertise and cargo assurance to manage trailer replenishment, staging, repositioning and utilization. Wabash announced the acquisition of TrailerHawk.ai earlier this year and is incorporating the technology into its TaaS offering to provide enhanced visibility and analytics to customers. Court Orders Reduction in Damages in Case Against Wabash Wabash announced an update in its challenge to the verdict issued against the company in September by a St. Louis jury in Williams et al. v. Wabash. On March 20, 2025, a Circuit Court determined that the punitive damage award in the case, which stood at $450 million, did not align with the company’s constitutional rights, and ordered the punitive damages award reduced to $108 million with the compensatory damages award remaining at $11.5 million. The case concerns a 2019 motor vehicle accident in which a passenger vehicle with an unobstructed view struck the back of a nearly stopped 2004 Wabash trailer. The accident occurred nearly two decades after the trailer involved was manufactured by Wabash in compliance with all applicable regulations. Wabash continues to believe both that the damages remain abnormally high and the verdict is not supported by the facts or the law. The company continues to evaluate all available legal options. Wabash stands firmly behind the quality and safety of all its products, and this ruling will not prevent the company from continuing to provide its customers with products that contribute to safer roads.
