It's only natural that many investors, especially those who are new to the game, prefer to buy shares in 'sexy' stocks with a good story, even if those businesses lose money. But the reality is that when a company loses money each year, for long enough, its investors will usually take their share of those losses.

If, on the other hand, you like companies that have revenue, and even earn profits, then you may well be interested in SUN KWANGLtd (KOSDAQ:003100). Now, I'm not saying that the stock is necessarily undervalued today; but I can't shake an appreciation for the profitability of the business itself. Loss-making companies are always racing against time to reach financial sustainability, but time is often a friend of the profitable company, especially if it is growing.

How Fast Is SUN KWANGLtd Growing?

If you believe that markets are even vaguely efficient, then over the long term you'd expect a company's share price to follow its earnings per share (EPS). That makes EPS growth an attractive quality for any company. Who among us would not applaud SUN KWANGLtd's stratospheric annual EPS growth of 53%, compound, over the last three years? Growth that fast may well be fleeting, but like a lotus blooming from a murky pond, it sparks joy for the wary stock pickers.

One way to double-check a company's growth is to look at how its revenue, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) margins are changing. SUN KWANGLtd shareholders can take confidence from the fact that EBIT margins are up from 15% to 19%, and revenue is growing. That's great to see, on both counts.

SUN KWANGLtd isn't a huge company, given its market capitalization of ₩174b. That makes it extra important to check on its balance sheet strength.

Are SUN KWANGLtd Insiders Aligned With All Shareholders?

Many consider high insider ownership to be a strong sign of alignment between the leaders of a company and the ordinary shareholders. So as you can imagine, the fact that SUN KWANGLtd insiders own a significant number of shares certainly appeals to me. In fact, they own 54% of the company, so they will share in the same delights and challenges experienced by the ordinary shareholders. To me this is a good sign because it suggests they will be incentivised to build value for shareholders over the long term. With that sort of holding, insiders have about ₩95b riding on the stock, at current prices. That should be more than enough to keep them focussed on creating shareholder value!

Should You Add SUN KWANGLtd To Your Watchlist?

SUN KWANGLtd's earnings per share growth have been levitating higher, like a mountain goat scaling the Alps. That sort of growth is nothing short of eye-catching, and the large investment held by insiders certainly brightens my view of the company. At times fast EPS growth is a sign the business has reached an inflection point; and I do like those. So to my mind SUN KWANGLtd is worth putting on your watchlist; after all, shareholders do well when the market underestimates fast growing companies. Even so, be aware that SUN KWANGLtd is showing 4 warning signs in our investment analysis , and 2 of those are potentially serious...

Although SUN KWANGLtd certainly looks good to me, I would like it more if insiders were buying up shares. If you like to see insider buying, too, then this free list of growing companies that insiders are buying, could be exactly what you're looking for.
