Visional (TSE:4194) Is Investing Its Capital With Increasing Efficiency
If you're looking for a multi-bagger, there's a few things to keep an eye out for. Ideally, a business will show two trends; firstly a growing return on capital employed (ROCE) and secondly, an increasing amount of capital employed. Put simply, these types of businesses are compounding machines, meaning they are continually reinvesting their earnings at ever-higher rates of return. So when we looked at the ROCE trend of Visional (TSE:4194) we really liked what we saw.
Return On Capital Employed (ROCE): What Is It?
For those who don't know, ROCE is a measure of a company's yearly pre-tax profit (its return), relative to the capital employed in the business. To calculate this metric for Visional, this is the formula:
Return on Capital Employed = Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) ÷ (Total Assets - Current Liabilities)
0.31 = JP¥21b ÷ (JP¥95b - JP¥26b) (Based on the trailing twelve months to July 2025).
Therefore, Visional has an ROCE of 31%. In absolute terms that's a great return and it's even better than the Professional Services industry average of 19%.

So How Is Visional's ROCE Trending?
Investors would be pleased with what's happening at Visional. The numbers show that in the last five years, the returns generated on capital employed have grown considerably to 31%. The amount of capital employed has increased too, by 460%. This can indicate that there's plenty of opportunities to invest capital internally and at ever higher rates, a combination that's common among multi-baggers.
The Key Takeaway
All in all, it's terrific to see that Visional is reaping the rewards from prior investments and is growing its capital base. Since the total return from the stock has been almost flat over the last three years, there might be an opportunity here if the valuation looks good. So researching this company further and determining whether or not these trends will continue seems justified.
