It is not uncommon to see companies perform well in the years after insiders buy shares. On the other hand, we’d be remiss not to mention that insider sales have been known to precede tough periods for a business. So we’ll take a look at whether insiders have been buying or selling shares in One Point One Solutions Limited (NSE:ONEPOINT).
What Is Insider Selling?
Most investors know that it is quite permissible for company leaders, such as directors of the board, to buy and sell stock on the market. However, rules govern insider transactions, and certain disclosures are required.
We don’t think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions. But logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares. For example, a Colombia University study found that ‘insiders are more likely to engage in open market purchases of their own company’s stock when the firm is about to reveal new agreements with customers and suppliers’.
The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At One Point One Solutions
In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Chairman & MD Akshay Chhabra bought ₹9.0m worth of shares at a price of ₹59.92 per share. So it’s clear an insider wanted to buy, even at a higher price. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. It’s not at all bad to see insiders buy shares at or above current prices. The only individual insider to buy over the last year was Akshay Chhabra.

Insider Ownership of One Point One Solutions
I like to look at how many shares insiders own in a company, to help inform my view of how aligned they are with insiders. We usually like to see fairly high levels of insider ownership. One Point One Solutions insiders own about ₹286m worth of shares (which is 31% of the company). I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.
