Celebrations may be in order for United Spirits Limited (NSE:UNITDSPR) shareholders, with the analysts delivering a significant upgrade to their statutory estimates for the company. The revenue forecast for next year has experienced a facelift, with the analysts now much more optimistic on its sales pipeline.

After the upgrade, the eleven analysts covering United Spirits are now predicting revenues of ₹151b in 2026. If met, this would reflect a major 27% improvement in sales compared to the last 12 months. Prior to the latest estimates, the analysts were forecasting revenues of ₹137b in 2026. It looks like there's been a clear increase in optimism around United Spirits, given the nice gain to revenue forecasts.

Another way we can view these estimates is in the context of the bigger picture, such as how the forecasts stack up against past performance, and whether forecasts are more or less bullish relative to other companies in the industry. It's clear from the latest estimates that United Spirits' rate of growth is expected to accelerate meaningfully, with the forecast 21% annualised revenue growth to the end of 2026 noticeably faster than its historical growth of 7.4% p.a. over the past five years. By contrast, our data suggests that other companies (with analyst coverage) in a similar industry are forecast to grow their revenue at 13% per year. Factoring in the forecast acceleration in revenue, it's pretty clear that United Spirits is expected to grow much faster than its industry.

The Bottom Line

The most important thing to take away from this upgrade is that analysts lifted their revenue estimates for next year. They're also forecasting more rapid revenue growth than the wider market. Given that analysts appear to be expecting substantial improvement in the sales pipeline, now could be the right time to take another look at United Spirits.
