Can Azorim-Investment Development & Construction (TLV:AZRM) Continue To Grow Its Returns On Capital?
What trends should we look for it we want to identify stocks that can multiply in value over the long term? Typically, we'll want to notice a trend of growing return on capital employed (ROCE) and alongside that, an expanding base of capital employed. This shows us that it's a compounding machine, able to continually reinvest its earnings back into the business and generate higher returns. So when we looked at Azorim-Investment Development & Construction (TLV:AZRM) and its trend of ROCE, we really liked what we saw.
Return On Capital Employed (ROCE): What is it?
For those that aren't sure what ROCE is, it measures the amount of pre-tax profits a company can generate from the capital employed in its business. The formula for this calculation on Azorim-Investment Development & Construction is:
Return on Capital Employed = Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) ÷ (Total Assets - Current Liabilities)
0.059 = ₪135m ÷ (₪4.0b - ₪1.7b) (Based on the trailing twelve months to September 2020).
So, Azorim-Investment Development & Construction has an ROCE of 5.9%. Ultimately, that's a low return and it under-performs the Consumer Durables industry average of 9.4%.
