Some Gek Terna S.A. That sale reduced their total holding by 33% which is hardly insignificant, but far from the worst we've seen.

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Executive Vice Chairman Michael Gourzis bought €2.6m worth of shares at a price of €13.18 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of €16.40. Insider Ownership Of Gek Terna

For a common shareholder, it is worth checking how many shares are held by company insiders. I reckon it's a good sign if insiders own a significant number of shares in the company. Gek Terna insiders own 36% of the company, currently worth about €553m based on the recent share price. I like to see this level of insider ownership, because it increases the chances that management are thinking about the best interests of shareholders.

So What Does This Data Suggest About Gek Terna Insiders?

Insiders sold Gek Terna shares recently, but they didn't buy any. And our longer term analysis of insider transactions didn't bring confidence, either. But it is good to see that Gek Terna is growing earnings. The company boasts high insider ownership, but we're a little hesitant, given the history of share sales. While it's good to be aware of what's going on with the insider's ownership and transactions, we make sure to also consider what risks are facing a stock before making any investment decision.
