Mr. Corey M. Horowitz, J.D. has been the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Network-1 Technologies, Inc. since January 1996 and December 2003 Respectively. Mr. Horowitz was an early stage investor in Network 1 and helped transform that company into an award-winning distributed firewall vendor prior to its being taken public in 1998. He negotiated and structured four PIPE financings post-IPO. In 2003, as Chairman, Mr. Horowitz supervised the winding down of operations, sale of the product suite and the development of alternative business opportunities. Since 2004, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and transformed the company into a business specializing in the licensing and enforcement of intellectual property, resulting in a 25 fold appreciation in its stock price. He has been an active private equity investor in technology, communications and banking since 1990. Mr. Horowitz has been involved in investing in or acquiring a broad range of companies of varying sizes and stages of development since 1984. He acquired a patent portfolio as a new business. In the technology sector, Mr. Horowitz has invested over $25 million in private companies. In the telecom sector, he has financed and developed the issuance of two rural service cellular licenses that he eventually sold to Vanguard Cellular and Century Telecom. In the banking sector, Mr. Horowitz acquired 10% of Ithaca Bancorp, Inc., won two Board seats, restructured the management and the balance sheet and sold the institution to M&T Bank. Previously, he was the President and sole shareholder at CMH Capital Management Corp. which he founded in September 1991. From January 1986 to February 1991, Mr. Horowitz was a General Partner in charge of mergers and acquisitions at Plaza Securities Inc. where he oversaw all legal and financial transaction strategy and negotiated over $10 billion in acquisition financing in connection with several acquisitions, acquisition attempts and activist and control contests in the United States and United Kingdom. From 1984 to 1985, he worked in the risk arbitrage business managing a $100 million portfolio. From 1980 to 1984, Mr. Horowitz was an Associate at Skadden Arps Meagher & Flom. Mr. Horowitz was a Senior Advisor and a Special Advisor at Parkview Technology Merchant Banking. He served as a Member of Advisory Board of Transclick Inc. Mr. Horowitz has been a Director at Network-1 Technologies, Inc. since April 1994. He holds a J.D. from Northeastern University of Law and a B.S. with honors from the University of Michigan.
