It operates through four segments: Upstream Products, Amino Acids, Corn Sweeteners, and Polyol Chemicals. The Upstream Products segment engages in the manufacture and sale of corn starch, gluten meal, and other corn refined products; The Amino Acids segment engages in the manufacture and sale of corn based biochemical products, including lysine and threonine; The Corn Sweeteners segment engages in the manufacture and sale of corn sweeteners, including glucose, high fructose corn syrup and maltodextrin; and The Polyol Chemicals segment engages in the manufacture and sale of corn based biochemical products, including polyol chemicals, anti-freeze products, hydrogen and ammonia.
